Chapter 11

Wala kaming ginagawa kundi ang kumain ng pagkain bago kainin ang isa't isa sa sumusunod na araw. He'll do it inside the restroom of either mall or restaurant. Inangkin na niya din ako sa may hagdanan ng condo niya, sa sofa, sa kwarto, sa bathroom at kung pwede pa lang sa labas, eh, ginawa na namin doon.

Sometimes, we will study in his condo, together. Kapag may quiz ako bukas hindi niya ako gagalawin, kung may quiz siya bukas hindi ko siya aakitin.

Magtataka na nga ang mga pinsan ko kung bakit hindi na ako sumasama sa mga gala namin. I just realized that I spent more time for Arc and my socket. Siguro, babawi nalang ako sa kanila next time.

I immediately took my phone out when I felt it vibrated because of a text message. I happily opened it and read Arc's message.

Arc:

Let's meet at our meeting place, Xyriel. After your class, please wait for me there.

I always wondered why Arc refused to come near my school or even at my school. He's somehow popular so why will he refuse to go to my school? Hindi ko naman masabing nahihiya siya sa mga estudyante doon.

I replied, 'Okay.' and turned off my phone. The lecturer came and suprised us of a quiz. My classmate immediately groaned but our lecturer insisted. Good thing I studied last night with Arc in his place.

Pagkatapos ng klase ko ay agad kong niligpit lahat ng kalat na gamit sa ibabaw ng lamesa ko. I put it inside my bag before I went outside.

Isinalampak ko ang earphones sa tenga ko, like what I usually do. Nang makarating sa restaurant kung saan kami magkikita.

I was busy on my phone when Arc called me. I immediately turned off the music and then my phone and hid it inside the bag with the earphones.

I smiled when I saw his stressed face, "Kumusta ang school?"tanong ko. He smiled and didn't answer my question.

"Mukhang stressed na stressed ka, ah? Share mo sa'kin ang problema mo baka mapayuhan pa kita."bahagya akong tumawa sa biro ko kaya ngumiti siya ng maliit.

"It's family problems and I don't want you to get involve. I can handle my situation."aniya at hiniga ang kalahating katawan sa lamesa habang magka-krus ang braso sa may mukha.

What he just said made my heart felt heavy. Alam kong wala siyang ibang intensiyon nang sinabi niya iyon ngunit hindi ko alam kung bakit may karayom na agad tumusok sa dibdib ko. I smiled at myself and felt sorry.

"Okay."ani ko at iniwas ang paningin sa kaniya. I called the waiter and ordered my usual frappe while I ordered his usual coffee, as well.

I paid the bill and stared at his stressed face. Bakit ang stress stress niya naman? Ngumuso ako.

Kapag stress siya, hindi niya ako ginagalaw ngunit hinahalikan niya lamang ako. Kaya siguro, no ilaw for today muna tayo.

Bumangon siya nang naserved na ang order namin. I sipped on my frappe and silently watching him tired.

I changed our topic and just told him how my day worked. He's kind of interested so I made my story a bit funny.

Nang sumapit ang 5:30 pm, hinatid na niya ako sa dorm at saka siya umuwi sa condo niya.

Pumasok na ako sa loob ng dorm at agad narinig ang cellphone ko na nagriring. I immediately took it from my bag and saw an unexpected call.

I cleared my throat before I answered, "Yes, dad?"

I'm sure they'll ask me what I want for my birthday. Wala pa nga akong naisip, eh.

"What do you want for your birthday, honey? You want your birthday to be grand?"he excitedly said that made my eyes roll. I knew he would say that.

I sighed, "Daddy, Can I have a simple party just like others do? Hindi na po kailangan maging engrande dahil first of all, hindi naman to debut."ani ko habang naghuhubad ng sapatos.

My parents are rich but I didn't took advantage of their moneys. I grew up with a silver spoon in my mouth but I know how to budget my currencies.

"Honey... Gusto lang namin maging memorable ang birthday mo pero kung iyan ang gusto mo, sige. Pero uuwi tayo sa Davao pag undas, okay? Bibisitahin natin ang puntod ng lola mo."aniya. I sighed and just agreed.

I can't refuse my beloved grandmother. She was the one who cared for me when my parents are out of town. She always took my side everytime when it comes to birthdays and moneys. I love my grandma that I'll do everything she wants at that time.

"Yes po, dad. Are my cousins also going, Daddy?"ani ko at umakyat na sa kwarto dala dala ang bag.

"Yes. Goodbye for now, honey. May gagawin pa si Daddy. I love you."aniya kaya agad akong nangiti.

"I love you, too, Dad. Send my regards to Mommy. I love you both!"ani ko bago pinatay ang tawag.

Nagngingiti ako pagkatapos ngunit agad napanis nang may tumawag ulit. This time, it's Arc.

May problema ba siya?

I immediately answered the call, "Oh, napatawag ka?"ani ko at niloud speaker para marinig ko ang sasabihin niya habang nagbibihis.

"Mukhang galing sa masayang tawag, ah?"aniya, nang aasar pero ramdam kong nagpipigil. I chuckled and tested his patience.

"Yeah. Nagngingiti nga ako pagsabi niya ng I love you."ani ko at tinakpan ang bibig upang hindi niya marinig ang tawa ko.

Dahil nga sa... siguro, rules na niya, ang kaniya ay kaniya lamang. Akala niya siguro nakipag-ilaw ako sa iba kaya warshock kung makapagreact.

"Nag I love you?"parang naiinis ang tono niya. I kept on consoling myself that he just wanted me to be healthy. Hindi dahil sa ibang rason.

"Oo."ani ko at nagbihis ng puting v-neck t-shirt at pajamas.

"Aba matindi."narinig kong bulong niya kaya tinawanan ko siya.

"Si Papa yun, gago! Wag ka ng nagselos, bebi."pang aasar ko sa kaniya.

"Hindi, ah. Bakit naman ako magseselos? Eh, ako lang ang nagpaungol sayo ng ganoon katindi."aniya at ngumisi ng matunog.

My cheeks reddened so I laughed to hide it.

He made me feel hot just by hearing his voice. Bwesit!
