*Priya’s POV*

I didn’t realize I had slipped until I felt his heaviness fall onto me and something soft on my lips. I opened my eyes and saw Jack’s face planted onto mine. I freaked out and pushed him off of me. In the midst of all this, the rain had cleared and a rainbow appeared. It happened again; my face was brick red and all I could hear was the sound of my heart racing. I couldn’t think clearly but my instincts told me to go home. I got up and started to walk away until I felt a hand grab my wrist.

“Where do you think you’re going without saying anything?” he asked sounding agitated.

“You just took my first kiss!” I exploded angrily.

“Are you really pissed off over a petty little peck on the lips? That wasn’t even on purpose!” He retorted with disbelief.

“Well, what do you think?!” I replied sarcastically.

“Hey, if it bothers you that much, let’s just pretend it didn’t happen.” He suggested

Pretend it didn’t happen? Hmm..that’s not so bad. It’s not like it had any feelings, so it doesn’t count right?

“F-fine, we shall never speak of this again.” I blurted out. “But I think I need to go home, or I might get sick in all these wet clothes.”

“I’ll walk you home.” He said as we began trudging our way through the wet and muddy grass.

*Jack’s POV*

I felt it was ridiculous that she valued her first kiss so much, I can’t even remember mine. I just told her to forget about it so she wouldn’t whine so much. Since she’s so worked up about what just happened, I guess I need to kiss her again when we get to her house; it’ll be fun to see her freaking out the next time I see her but I just don’t want to be there when she’s all pouty and whiney. And besides, I barely got to make any fun of her today.

We arrived at her house and it was about time I made my move. She began to open the door into her house without a word.

“What, no ‘thanks’?” I asked

“T-tha-thanks. See y-you later.” She stuttered awkwardly.

*Author’s POV*

“That didn’t sound very sincere.” Jack said walking closer.

“Well, what do you want?” Priya asked eyeing him suspiciously.

Closer.

Closer.

Closer.

And in a swift motion, with his hands casually in his pockets, he planted a firm kiss on her lips.

“This.” He whispered into her ear afterwards.

She stood frozen, unable to move and she felt as though she was floating on air. Meanwhile, Jack felt a lightening jolt throughout his whole body when their lips touched. Both of them were shocked by what they felt during their second kiss. Jack hadn’t expected to feel anything when he kissed her but still managed to keep his cool while Priya was at risk of heart failure. He walked away as if nothing had happened.

*Priya’s POV*

What. Just. Happened. After about a dozen passing pedestrians staring oddly at me standing there, dazed off into space, I finally snapped out of it and went into my house; but still in a daze. I aimlessly kicked off my shoes, ignoring my brother’s questions and walked upstairs, into my room. I flopped myself onto the bed. Why did he do that? Does he like me? Is he a molester? Will I get raped? Do I still have my chastity? Can I still get married in this state? Did I catch an STD? A billion odd questions popped into my head. They finally stopped when I heard my phone ring.

*Author’s POV*

“Hello..?” Priya said wearily.

“How did it go with Jack?” Kelly chimed through the phone.

“I…he…we…” Priya had awaken from her daze but was still at a loss for words.

“What? What happened?” she asked with curiosity.

“We…kissed.” She managed to reply.

“WHAT?! We need to talk about this right now. You. Me. Starbucks.” Kelly demanded before hanging up.

Priya figured she could use some fresh air anyway. So she changed out of her damp clothes and into some comfortable sweats. She was greeted by Kelly with two iced coffees sitting on one of the tables in the patio. Priya plopped herself onto the seat in front of her and buried her face into her arms.

“So tell me what happened, rockstar.” Kelly said in a straight tone.

“Well…in technicality…..we kinda kissed twice.” Priya mumbled carefully.

Kelly took a spit take in the other direction, “WHAT?”

“The first time was an accident when we fell on the slippery grass in the park.” She explained.

“Uh-huh”

“and the second time…I was kind of taken by surprise. He just all of a sudden kissed me after he walked me home.”

“This doesn’t sound right, Priya. He either likes you or he’s just playing you, and what you and Jeremy have told me about him, it seems like he’s playing you like a cat with yarn.”

Priya just sat quietly for a bit until she suddenly remembered that Kelly took off with Jeremy.

“Hold up, what about you? You left me for Jeremy to go to lunch, remember?”

“Yeah, I did. After I got all the butterflies out, I realized he’s actually pretty chill. It wasn’t necessarily special but I think I’ll just stay friends with him unless he decides to ask me out.”

“Oh, at least he’s not as much of a sleaze as I thou-“ Priya was cut off by Kelly dragging her down off her chair and under the table.

“Look, Jack’s right there.” Kelly whispered as she pointed to Jack walking into the Starbucks.

Priya’s eyes grew wide.
