Priya’s POV*

Is this what love is like? The thoughts of Jack clouded my mind up until the next day. I didn’t want to think about it too much, I was so unfamiliar with dating and love. I wanted to get my mind of the topic as much as possible, I figured it couldn’t be healthy for me to think about the same thing until the next afternoon. So I decided to go out and rent a movie to distract me.

I arrived at the nearby mall that happened to have a Blockbuster inside. I was about to enter until I heard a familiar voice from somewhere,

“Hey! Aren’t you Priya?”

I turned around and was surprised to see Jeremy, from the yesterday.

“Oh hey,” I said looking up at him, he was pretty tall, “what’re you doing here?”

“I was just about to rent a movie,” he answered “and I guess you are too?” he said as he looked at me and at the big blue Blockbuster sign.

I half-giggled, “Yeah, I was.”

“Hey, since we’ve run into each other, why don’t we just watch a movie together at the movies instead? Everything’s more fun when you have company.” He smiled a billion dollar smile as he spoke.

“Yeah, that sounds fun.” I smiled back

“Great, there’s this rom-com that I’ve been wanting to watch.”

“Whoa, you watch chick flicks?” I asked, surprised. I never thought that a good looking guy like him would ever even consider it.

“Yeah,” he replied awkwardly, scratching his head, “but I’m not gay. “ he said laughing as he reassured me.

I laughed along with him. “Don’t worry, I think it’s cool that you like chick flicks. It’s like how people say it takes a real man to wear pink.”

*After the movies*

Surprisingly, we had a great time together at the shockingly small theatre. We kept making jokes about how the main characters kept making oddball decisions that would only make their situation even more complicated than it already was. He’s a really funny guy, I think we’ll probably end up being really good friends. We said our goodbyes and exchanged phone numbers so that we could easily contact each other to see another movie whenever. Jeremy did a really good job of getting Jack off my mind for the time being.

*Author’s POV*

Once she arrived home, she hopped into the shower to freshen up; she had a quite a long day after all. She got changed into her cozy PJ’s and began to towel dry her hair. As she did so, the thoughts of Jack began to pollute her mind again. The fluttering came back; once she noticed it, she realized that the re-occurring pain in her chest was suddenly lifted when she spent most of the day with Jeremy earlier. This made her even gladder that she agreed to watch a movie with him. She suddenly heard a beep from her phone; it was a text. She set the towel onto her small bed and picked up her phone to check the text. She expected it to be Jeremy since they saw each other only hours ago but to her surprise it wasn’t him. It was from an unknown number. Well that’s odd. She thought as began to read it:

Unknown: Guess who it is?

Priya smelt something fishy about the text but decided to reply anyway.

Priya: Who are you and how did you get my number?

Unknown: My friend gave it to me. Don’t worry, you know me...by the way you should fix that backed up toilet of yours.
