"I'm not afraid of commitment. I'm afraid of surrendering control too quickly - of placing my heart into hands that won't know how to hold it."

Friday night
I got out my G-Wagon fixing the strap of my clutch on my shoulder, I looked up at the yacht before me. This was fancy...
"Beautiful isn't it." Kenny spoke leaning into my ear. "After you." He pointed towards the yacht.
I smiled as I lead the way, good thing I wore this dress because I could really feel his eyes on my ass. As soon as I approached the yacht the deckhand held his hand out to me helping me get into the yacht.
"Thank you." I smiled.
"Oh my god..." I trailed off in awe at how the yacht looked.
"Like I said before. Isn't it beautiful?"
I nodded looking around at everything. Wait- how could he even afford this, wasn't he a policeman.
"Is this yours?" I asked facing him.
"No. I'm just renting it for the evening." He said sounding so nonchalant.
I nodded deciding not to pry.
"Shall we?" He asked offering me his arm.
"Sure." I said looping my arm into his.
We walked around the first floor before we took the stairs up to the second floor. I couldn't help but smile at how he took the time out of his day to prepare all of this for me. He led me up to our table and pulled my chair out for me.
"Thank you." I said once I took my seat.
"No problem." He smiled walking around to his seat.
"This is so nice. I wasn't expecting you to go all out like this." I spoke truthfully.
"Is it because I'm just a cop?" He raised his eyebrows as the waiter came over to us and poured us some champagne.
"Yes." I said.
"Well I appreciate the honesty. But I'm not just a cop, I have side jobs as well... I mean how else would I be able to take care of my daughter." He said immediately making my eyes widen at the mention of his daughter.
"You have a daughter?"
"Yes- probably too soon to have told you- look I hope that won't be a problem here." He said picking up his glass.
I stared at him for awhile deciding if I wanted to have anything with a man that already had a child... if he had a child he had to have a baby mama, and I'm really not here for all that drama.
