Cheonsa POV

I awoke with a start. Sweat rolled down my forehead as my eyes focused on the unfamiliar area.

"Where am I? Who am I?" I asked.

My head was swimming, trying to piece together memories I wasn't even sure I had.

But there was nothing. Just this gaping hole, devoid of any memory or knowledge.

I could only hear one-word ringing in my head.

Cheonsa(Angel)

"Is that my name?"

Without any other information, I decided to go with that. I was Cheonsa.

I sat up slowly, trying to gather my bearings.

I was on a bench of some kind, in some park.

That when I noticed there were a few other things with me. There was a birth certificate next to my head as well as a cell phone, a wallet, and a notebook.

"What the hell is going on?" I groaned.

I picked up the birth certificate and analyzed it.

Hwang Cheonsa
March 23, 1996
Seoul, South Korea

That was all the information I needed.

I was Hwang Cheonsa, age twenty-four, born in Seoul.

According to the birth certificate, I had been put up for adoption but was never adopted. So when I turned eighteen, I just left on my own.

The next thing I looked at was the phone.

There were no contacts in my phone except for someone named Chief Gu.

I tried searching through the phone for any more information, but there was nothing.

The next item was the wallet.

I was shocked when I opened the wallet to see a police badge call out.

"No way. I'm a cop?"

The badge glimmered in the moonlight, indeed revealing that I was an officer. This was also confirmed by an ID card with my name and picture.

"This is too freaky," I sighed.

In the wallet were a few credit cards that were issued in my name and a wad of cash.

"I'm surprised no one tried to rob me with the amount of cash I have here," I sighed.

The last thing I checked was the notebook.

There was only one thing written in the notebook. It was an address.

With no other information, it was pretty clear what I had to do.

I got up, staggering slightly as if I had forgotten how to walk, and stumbled to the main road to flag down a cab.

After a short ride, the driver pulled up in front of a quaint and peaceful looking house.

I quickly paid and thanked the driver before getting out of the cab.

I stared in awe at my house, "I live here?"

And then I realized something rather important. When I woke up, there were no keys around!

I approached the door, surprised to find that it was unlocked.

"Oh hell no," I sighed.

I warily took a step inside, carefully scanning the shadows for any potential burglars or demons.

I turned on the lights, defensively checking if anyone was around.

Once I had confirmed there was no stranger in my house, I let out a sigh of relief and collapsed on my couch.

"So let me get this straight. I wake up on a bench with no memory except for a name. And then certain items like a birth certificate, phone, wallet, and a notebook are given to me? And to top it off, I have a house that's unlocked, with the keys sitting on the kitchen counter. What the hell is happening?" I sighed.

Suddenly my phone pinged with a notification.

Reminder
Meeting w/ Chief Gu @ 8 a.m.

The time on my phone read that it was midnight.

"Maybe if I go to this I can figure some things out," I sighed.

So I picked myself off of the couch and dragged myself to my bedroom. I quickly washed up and changed into pajamas that were apparently mine.

I laid in my bed when I felt something wet on my cheek. Tears.

I was so confused and conflicted. I had no idea who I was and what my life was. My memories were nonexistent and to top it off, I had this very painful feeling of longing in my heart. Like I had left someone.

And so I ended up crying myself to sleep, hoping that tomorrow would be clearer.

The next morning, I was up early to shower and eat breakfast.

After spending some time exploring my closet and getting familiar with all the clothes I apparently owned, I found an outfit that I knew would make an impression.

Nothing screams, 'ready to kick butt,' like a bomber jacket.

I picked up my keys and swung them around my finger.

"Let's see, maybe I have a car too," I hummed.

Sure enough, when I clicked the clicker on the keys, a car on the street beeped.

Bingo.

I got into my ride, gently petting the leather. I must admit, I must've been pretty great to afford such a nice house and car.

It then dawned on me that I might've forgotten how to drive a car.

I cursed under my breath, unsure of what to do.

"Okay let me try. Maybe I'll have muscle memory or something," I sighed.

Sure enough, despite having no memory of learning how to drive, I managed to get it started and started driving off towards the address of the station.

What adventures were awaiting me, I didn't know. But I knew that the only lead I had on my memories was this job.

And so, with big strides, I entered the station.
