Once again, I was in the world of a white void. I looked at my ghostly body trying to piece together what the hell was happening.

"Where am I? Who am I? Wait, I'm Hwang something. Hwang Ji...Hwang Jisol? I'm Hwang Jisol, I think," I said, looking at the body that felt unfamiliar to me.

"Sorry sweetie, that's me," a gentle voice said.

I looked up and saw her. A young girl, maybe around eighteen years old approached me. She was...angelic. I felt entranced by her presence. As if she was a goddess.

Those little specks danced around her like sparkles danced around a flame.

"You...you are Hwang Cheonsa."

Hwang Cheonsa?

All at once, everything seemed to come back to me.

I was Hwang Cheonsa. I was twenty-four. I was a detective with Kim Seokjin. Jisol was a spirit in me.

I looked up at the girl in awe and confusion.

"I'm freaked out," I huffed.

She chuckled, "I'd be too. I just wanted to meet you formally. And I wanted to properly apologize for the trouble I've caused you. You must feel a bit lost as to who you really are."

"That's putting it mildly," I scoffed.

"For what it's worth, you deserve your own life Cheonsa. And you'll get it once this is all over," she said.

"I'm sorry but my life will never be normal or my own. I was literally poofed into existence for some grand reason that I can barely wrap my head around. So I don't know how any of this will ever feel like my own life. I feel like I'm living in a dreamlike nightmare."

Jisol only smiled, "I understand and I truly am sorry. But there is another reason I pulled you into this dream. There's something you need to know. I can feel it, something big is looming. Something sinister is brewing. I can't tell you what that is because I'm not a psychic, but I can tell you that it is big."

I furrowed my eyebrows worriedly, "Does it involve Seokjin getting hurt because I will pull a Sunee if I have to."

She grimaced, "Call it angel's intuition but I think it might have to do with both of you."

I didn't know what to say. What could I say?

"Okay, I guess. But I made a promise to Seokjin that I would be there to support him and I intend to keep it. So that means neither of us is dying," I warned.

She laughed, "You really are in love with him."

"How so?"

"The way you light up when you talk about him or how desperately you want to protect him. That Cheonsa, is you being your own person. That was your own decision. So I hope you remember that. Now I think it's time to send you back to the real world, however, I'll leave you with this...someday soon, you will be required to make a choice. A big one. Either way, you will be welcomed with open arms. Think about where you belong okay? See you around soldier," she said as her body began fading.

I tried to call out to her but my voice was silenced as my own body faded.

"Cheonsa wake up!"

My eyes shot open by the loud noise.

I must've passed out on my desk because I awoke to the sight of wood.

"Ugh did I fall asleep?" I groaned groggily.

There was this feeling like I should be remembering something but I couldn't figure it out. I shrugged, assuming I had a dream that I didn't remember.

"Yes, you did. I don't blame you because it's like twelve but I had to wake you up because of this," Seokjin hurriedly wheeled my chair over to his side of the desk.

He shoved me in front of his computer screen which was open to an email.

Dear Detective Kim,

Hello, my name is Choi Minchul. I am writing to you because I'd like to meet with you and your partner Detective Hwang. I believe I might have some knowledge about the four murder cases you are working on right now. I do hope you'll excuse the discretion I have as this information was supposed to be kept a secret.

Here is the location and date and time when we should meet:

Location: (address)
Date: 09/08/20 - Friday
Time: 2:30 P.M.

I hope that this works for you and your partner. If I may request, please don't bring any other officers or detectives with you. The less who know the better. And feel free to bring any weapons of your choice for extra protection, but I wouldn't suggest using it.

Hope to see you there.

Regards,
Choi Minchul

I looked at Seokjin with wide eyes.

"Holy shit," I breathed.

"Holy shit is right. You wanted a breakthrough, here it is. We might be able to catch both of them!" A wide smile spread across Seokjin's face and before I could react, he picked me up out of the chair and hugged me tightly.

I smiled into his embrace.

There was reason for hope.

I just wished I could've remembered what the dream had told me. It would've prepared me for the next few days and weeks.
