Mentions of blood, murder, and death.

Cheonsa POV

Seokjin was worried, how cute.

I was feeling strange as we went into the first warehouse. I wasn't sure how to describe it but there was this strong presence of something bad. A feeling I could only describe as death. It made my skin crawl just thinking about it. Dare I say, I felt like I could feel Yuri's pain and anguish in the moments leading up to her death.

"Cheonsa are you sure you're okay? I'd be happy to drop you off at the station," Seokjin pushed.

"Seokjin if you ask me one more time, I will be obligated to kick where the sun doesn't shine. I get that you're worried but I'm really fine. It's my first time at a crime scene, cut me some slack," I argued, not realizing my slip up.

He cocked an eyebrow, "But you were an officer before this weren't you?"

I gulped, "I meant as a detective genius."

But I could see it in his eyes. My lies were not fooling him. Thankfully, he let it go and went deeper into the warehouse. And then finally we arrived as the crime scene of Lee Yuri. Police tape was everywhere and there were a few officers keeping watch, but we showed them our badges and were granted access.

I surveyed the crime scene around me. It was obvious that whatever they had found had already been taken to evidence, but that didn't mean that the scene wasn't jarring.

I knelt down, flashing my flashlight over a central area where the crime took place. There was dried blood on the ground as well as dried blood splattered on the walls,

I curiously stared at the stains, noticing something interesting.

"There was a struggle," I commented.

Seokjin eyed me curiously, "What do you mean?"

"Look. Right here is where she was shot fourteen times right because there's a central mass of blood here. And it makes sense how it'd splatter on the wall. But look here," I said pointing to other smaller and barely noticeable streaks of blood. "There is no way that the blood could've splattered here from the way the blood landed on the wall. Not to mention that this spot of blood is considerably drier than that blood. Maybe a few hours at least."

Seokjin snapped a few pictures of the stain, an angry expression plastered on his face. He clenched his jaw, his jawline suddenly becoming very pronounced. It was kind of mesmerizing to watch Seokjin fall into his work. He really took everyday seriously and worked himself to the bone for justice. I respected him for that.

Seokjin brought one of the evidence vials we had and got a bit of the dried blood in an airtight vial.

"Find it Cheonsa."

I whipped my head around to find the source of the voice, but it was only me, Seokjin, and a few other officers.

And that's when I saw it. Hidden in between a wall and a pipe was a small twinkle of pink.

Bingo.

I rushed over to it, carefully pulling it from behind the pipes. It was a small pink beaded bracelet with a charm that said 'Best Friends' on one side and on the other it said 'Loyalty & Trust' but that side had an 'x' over it.

"Seokjin, I think I found our miracle," I said.

He hurried over to me, delicately taking the bracelet in his hands.

He cursed, "How could they miss this? I swear I am putting in a complaint when this is all over. But anyway, this is great! We can get this stuff to evidence and maybe piece together a story."

We searched the warehouse Yuri was found in for an hour or two more before concluding that we had thoroughly searched. The next warehouse was Jaehwa's which was a block or two away.

When we got there, I felt the same strange feeling overcome me. A strong presence of death. A presence of a young woman on her way to do brilliant things. What happened to you Yoo Jaehwa? What was their motive?

This warehouse didn't have anything like the blood sample in Yuri's, however, after thoroughly checking the warehouse again, I came across a familiar pink glimmer.

"Seokjin! There's another one!" I exclaimed.

This bracelet also had a charm on it, but on the other side of it, the words that were crossed out were 'Love & Laugh.'

Seokjin was ecstatic. I'd never seen him so animated since I started working here. Yet here he was practically bouncing off of the walls.

There was no other evidence for Jaehwa's murder, so we moved onto the last warehouse which was Haewon's crime scene.

Similar to Jaehwa's, it didn't seem like there was any evidence, but I knew better than to trust a few sweeps of a certain area.

So I looked high and low and came across yet another pink bracelet. This one had 'Forever & Beyond' crossed out. So clearly, this was more personal than people were assuming. However, while I was looking at the bracelet, something else caught my eye. On the ground near where the bracelet was found, there was another strangely placed area of dried blood.

The blood was practically blending in with the rust of the old warehouse, but it was still somewhat evident.

My eyes widened when I realized that something had been written in blood.

CM

CM? What could it mean? Obviously it had been written by someone who was there at the time of the attack.

"Seokjin, camera now!" I exclaimed.

He rushed over.

"You're on quite the roll today rookie," he commented.

I would've given a snarky response back, but this area where the blood splatter was strangely calling out to me. I didn't know how to explain it, but I felt like I had to do this. Like I was meant to find this and there was a reason why others couldn't.

"CM? Could it be initials of her killer, or maybe someone who will be able to give answers?" He asked.

"You could be right. Maybe Haewon wrote it to help us. Or maybe the suspect or suspects put it there to throw us off. Either way, it's worth looking into. I think our next step is getting a roster of the seniors from their school. Maybe someone with those initials will have some answers," I agreed.

Seokjin eagerly eyed all the evidence we had found.

And he offered me a rare smile, "Nice job rookie. This was excellent work. I think we might actually be going somewhere now."

Immense pride filled me.

"Looks like you're an angel of luck," he winked before walking off back to the car.

Something strange was happening to me. A weird heat rose to my face and my heart started beating erratically.

This feeling, what was it?
