Cheonsa POV
BANG!
A hole ripped through the target right in the center of its head. Recently, I had surprisingly turned to the thing I was most afraid of. I had been spending any free time, I would spend it down below at the firing range. It took my mind off of things and helped me focus my energy on something productive. Doing so has helped me improve my aim tremendously.
Jisol, who I had now learned was embodied inside of me had begun to help me more with the case but I was still rather hesitant to cooperate with her.
And Seokjin had been a real angel the whole time. I could tell he didn't understand but he never tried to burden me with it.
I cocked the gun and was about to fire another shot when I felt a hand on my shoulder.
I set my gun down and took off the noise-canceling headphones.
"We got a hit on that Hweseung kid," Seokjin said seriously.
I nodded. No matter what I was going through, I wasn't going to let it affect my job. It felt like the only thing that was truly mine anymore.
I handed the cocked gun to another officer who was coming in for some practice and hurried after Seokjin.
What we were doing today was extremely serious and could get potentially dangerous. Hweseung might've been a kid who didn't hurt people, but the gang that relates to the 'dive' parties was probably going to be there and who knows what they'd do.
This time, we put the bulletproof vests over our clothes. I put my gun in its holster and loaded up on ammo just in case.
I gave Seokjin a short nod before heading out to the car.
We drove off to the location, which we got because we were tipped off by one of the students who were in the three girls' year.
It was a secluded part of town with a pungent smell of cigarettes and weed filling our noses.
The address we were given was a shady-looking warehouse. But it was evident that this was their meeting spot because we heard several voices shouting the word 'dive' across the road.
We had parked the car a distance away so that we had an element of surprise and also didn't appear too threatening. We had no business in dealing with the gang today. Not unless we needed to.
Seokjin and I took slow and calculated steps towards the warehouse, making sure that we were out of sight for the most part.
"We should probably put our guns away. If we walk in with our guns drawn they will open fire and we'll be dead because we have no backup," Seokjin said.
I grimaced at the word 'dead.'
I wasn't about to die twice.
I put the gun out and then walked with Seokjin out into the open. The 'dive' members stared at us in utter shock before everyone ran around chaotically trying to figure out what to do.
"There are cops! Shit, there are cops!"
Seokjin shot me an amused glance before speaking, "Relax. While we should nail all of your sorry asses, we haven't come to bust your little gang or illegal party syndicate. We just need to talk with one of you..."
As Seokjin continued to try and convince the very wary gang, I felt a chill run down my spine.
"Cheonsa, behind you!"
Thanks to Jisol's warning, I was able to catch two burly men who were came charging at me. I easily sidestepped and watched amusedly as they fell on their face.
