dear ever,

do you remember the time you saw me sleeping outside our college building? this moment, i can't remember but bree showed me what happened, she had a video of it. apparently, the whole university knows what happened. that day i found out why rejecting you has been such a big deal to others.

I woke up from my nap to see an umbrella covering me from the sun. So, that's why it wasn't hot and here I thought that it's about to rain. I took the yellow umbrella and looked for a name or a number so I can return it to whoever left it for me but there was none. I looked at my table to see other notebooks on top of mine. It was notes for the Chemistry class that I've been studying for. Our midterm exam is coming up but since I got sick during the last two meetings I couldn't participate in some activities and the long exam for midterms preparation, which lowered my class standing. Sir Adams told me that I could make up this afternoon for the activities and the test I missed but points would be deducted, so here I am preparing for that.  Ever, I knew that it was you who left the notebook and umbrella. Even though you tore the page where I'm guessing it had your name, I could recognise your handwriting.

"Why are you being so nice to me?" I muttered to myself. I got my things and went towards the cafeteria where Bree was. When I entered I could feel dozens of eyes watching me as I walk. I looked at them bewildered, is there something wrong? I walked over to see Bree holding her phone tightly and watching something from it. It's probably just another movie that she found.

"Bree, what are you watching?" I asked curiously, since she was so focused on it. To the point that she didn't even notice me sit down.

"Why are you making it so hard for him Tani?" she asked and I gave her a confused look. She gave me her phone and played the video. It was you, Ever. You and I, together. I was sleeping outside and the sun was hitting my face but you were desperately trying to cover it with your hand. It took you long enough to realise that you had an umbrella, so you got your bag and took out the yellow umbrella. You just stared and caressed my head. Ever, I know I told you before but you are a creep. Sweet but still a creep. You took a look at my notes and I bet you saw my doodles and complaints that's scattered all over them. You got your notes tore one of the page, sloppily and placed it on the table. You muttered something, the video wasn't able to pick it up. But I knew what you said, Ever. I thought it was another crazy dream of mine but after this video, I knew it happened in real life.

You said, "I'm so glad we met, again." Then you left. The video stopped then and I saw Bree waiting for my reaction.

"Oh, that's why," I said plainly. Then proceeded studying both our notes. I only have an hour left before my make up tests.

"That's it? Your hearts not leaping for joy? Let me touch your heart, I can't believe you're not happy about this. You have a perfect guy wrapped around your little finger but you're still not showing any interest in him?" she complained. I laughed to see her reaction.

"What do you want me to do? Dance for joy? Bree, I'm thankful for what he did but why is it such a big deal?" I explained as I took fries from her. She scowled at me for doing so.

"You really don't know?" she muttered, with a shocked expression that's plastered on her face.

"No, if I knew I wouldn't ask, dummy," I sarcastically said.

"Tanisha, you're the first girl Ever has taken interest on. He never asked somebody out before and he keeps on rejecting girls and guys who asked him out. People were even suspecting that he's asexual but you came. That's why everyone is making this a big deal. They're questioning what's with you that made him like that," Bree explained and I nodded.

Ever, I didn't believe the rumours maybe because I knew that I wasn't the first girl you took interest on. You see, the other day I left one of my receipts at the council office so I came back to get it and that's when I heard you talk to Gear.

Gear asked you, what changed your mind about dating. You said, that I reminded you of her. Ever, that got me skeptical of your intentions. Are you just taking an interest in me because that girl and I are similar? I was interested in you, Ever. Your familiarity was something that puzzled me. But if you couldn't like me for me, then I should stop wasting my time on you. I'm not her, Ever. I'm not her.
