Shadow POV

Tomorrow is the day everyone was going to the cemetery. I still felt a little uneasy about last night. And the thought that me or Tails could be in trouble was bouncing around in my mind like a pinball.

I was watching a movie in the living room, waiting for Tails to wake up, when I heard a knock on the door. I paused the movie and walked to the door.

Before I opened it, I heard someone running off..really fast. "Could it be..? Nah" I said to myself. I opened the door and didn't see anyone, but I saw a note. It read, "Follow the dirt path in the forest to a clearing with a hill, and a tree on top of that hill. Meet me there tomorrow at noon, on your way to the cemetery."

I felt a chill run down my spine. Was this left by the person who was following me last night?

My thoughts were interrupted when I heard a loud scream and someone crying. It sounded like it was coming from Tails' room, so I ran towards it. I opened the door to see the fox cub in his bed crying and hugging his pillow. I walked over and sat down next to him.

"Hey, are you okay?" I asked softy. "Y-yeah.. Im f-fine" Tails said, his voice breaking as he spoke. I wrapped an arm around him. "Are you sure?" I looked at him with worry in my eyes. "N-no.." He spoke truthfully. "What's wro-" I said, but I stopped as I was taken by surprise when he hugged me tightly. "I.. Miss him.. So.. Bad!" He stuttered. He had buried his face into my chest fur, and was bawling. I rubbed his back to calm him down. "Shh.. It's okay.. I miss him too, little guy.. We all do.." I said as I hugged him back. "And I'm sure he's up in Heaven with God, watching down on us.."

This went on for a few more minutes, then he finally calmed down. Tails let go and smiled. "Th-thank you.." He said as he wiped his eyes. "Anytime." I smiled softly. "Hey, you wanna go and get something to eat at Olive Garden?" I said as I messed with the fur on his head. "Hey!" He chuckled. "Sure, why not?" He nodded, as I stood up and walked to the door. "Okay, c'mon!" I said smiling at him. He smiled back and followed me outside.

"I'll race ya!" I chuckled. "Okay, and the winner get bragging rights for a day!" He said confidently. "Oh yeah? Your on!" I laughed and took off running. He was right behind me, though. I thought I would go easy on him, since he is a kid, so I had my rocket skates off. He ended up beating me, and was bragging for the rest of day.

He really reminds me of Sonic sometimes.
