I Missed You (Sonadow)

~Chapter 25 ~ Missing ~

Shadow POV

As soon as I walked back into the hospital, I noticed something was off. The front desk lady was missing, and the floor and walls had big cracks in them. I walked up to the desk and leaned over to see the lady laying on the floor, her face in the ground. "Uh, ma'am? Are you okay?" I asked. No answer. That threw off some red flags. I looked towards the hallway to Sonic's room, to see more cracks in the floor. I followed them.

Once Sonic's room was in sight, I noticed the door was missing. I then ran towards the room, and to my horror, the bed was empty. Sonic was missing. I slowly walked toward the bed, and saw a small piece of paper on it. 

It read, 'Why hello there, Shadow. I'm sure you've noticed by now that your little hedgy is missing. Now, don't be alarmed. He is safe here. I just need to take his speed from him and place it in my robots so they will be unstoppable. Don't fret. For, this extraction shouldn't hurt him per say, but, if you wish to see his face once more, I do suggest you come quickly. Yours truly, Dr. Eggman' 

I crumpled the paper in my fist. "Damnit, Eggman!" I yelled as tears escaped my eyes. "No, there's no time for crying. I have to save him. I.. I have to save Sonic!" I said, wiping my eyes. I activated my rocket skates and ran as fast as I could, all while dialing Rouge's number. "Hey, sugar. What's u-" "Eggman-has-Sonic-and-is-going-to-kill-him-so-he-can-take-his-speed-and-give-it-to-his-robots!" I said quickly, cutting the bat off. "Oh my! I'm on my way!" She replied, hanging up.

After hanging up, I soon saw Eggman's base in the distance. I hope I'm not to late.. I thought as I came up on the metal doors. Just as I stepped in ront of them, I heard footsteps behind me. I turned around to see Rouge with her ears down. She nodded to me, telling me it's alright. I nodded back and turned to the doors. I kicked the doors open and ran in. Me and Rouge then split up to find him.

Every step I took made me more and more worried. I felt like the walls were gonna cave in on me. I'm just full of unluckiness, aren't I? My sister is torn from me.. My lover is taken from me.. three times. What's next? I thought. Why must I hurt everything? Maria said my purpose was to help people.. but.. is that true? What if Prefessor Gerald created me to.. kill?  I looked at my hands as my vision got blurry from my tears. I hugged myself and closed my eyes. If that's true.. then why do I keep going on..? Why can't I get rid of this damn curse?! Just let me die already! Please! ..please.. I don't wanna keep hurting people.. I fell on my knees, crying.

I stayed there crying for what felt like an eternity before I heard footsteps behind me. My ear twitched as I heard a familiar voice. "Shadow! I foun- ..Shadow?" Rouge said, walking towards me. "No! G- get away! Stay back!" I called to her, inching away. "Shadow, I'm not going to hurt you." She smiled. "No, I know. But if you get closer, I'll hurt you!" I said, more tears sliping out of my eyes. She lowered her ears. 

"Hon. Your not going to hurt me. Now, come on. I found where Eggman is keeping Sonic." She said, reaching her hand out. I backed away from it and lowered my ears. She grumbled. "Quit acting like this, Shadow! Your not going to hurt me, or anyone! Non of this is your fault! You hear me?!" She yelled, grabbing my wrist. "N-" "Shut!" She growled, cutting me off. I did as she said and stayed quite, following her lead.

We stopped in front of a door that had a small window in it. Rouge peeked in, while I was still trying to get those thoughts out of my mind. Rouge then grabbed my wrist, making me look through the window as well. I saw Sonic tied to a stone bed, with a bunch of gadgets and stuff hooked up to him. I lowered my ears and covered my mouth. 

"We have to get in there." Rouge said. I backed up again. She rolled her eyes and put her hands on my shoulders. "Shadow! For the last time! Your not cursed! Your not unlucky! Nothing is your fault! Stop blaming yourself for everything! Your the best and nicest person I've ever met! How do I know that? First of all, you almost sacrificed your life just to save the world, second you were able to steal the heart of someone who crossed their heart to never be in a relationship, and for Chaos' sake, you were able to befriend someone who never in a million years wanted a friend! Yet you still think this? It's just coincidences!" Rouge scolded. "Now come on, we have to save your boyfriend." I slowly nodded.

She looked around. "Hm. Hey, do you know how to fly a helicopter? Because I think I just came up with a plan! Could say it's the greatest plan." Rouge said, giving me a sly look. I shook my head. "Darn.. Oh! Uh, why don't you just kick the door down?" I stared at her for a second, then nodded and kicked it down. 

"Eggman!" Rouge called. "Let him go!" The round man chuckled, "Oh ho ho ho! You really think I'll let his opportunity just slip from my grasp?" I clenched my fist. "Chaos.." I started. "WAIT! Waitwaitwaitwait! No!" Eggman cried, covering his face with his arms. "Will you let him go now?" I asked. "No." He replied simply, and pressed a button on the control panel next to him. Before I could realize what was happening, I was pinned to the wall by a piece of metal and Rouge was hiding behind a wall.

I struggled to escape, and Rouge looked at me worried. "Don't even try. There's no chance that you could ever break through that. But even if you do, it'll be too late." Eggman laughed evilly. "Chaos.. Con..trol.." I coughed. Luckily it worked, but I could barely move, I felt like my bones had been crushed. So, I used Chaos Heal as I watched Rouge deal with the Doctor.

"Don't even think about it, Doc!" She called, kicking a remote out of his hands. "Would you pests just let me get my way for once!" Eggman growled. "I don't think so, Eggy." Rouge smirked. As soon as she said that, I felt the pain melt away. I smiled. "Rouge! Move!" I called. "Chaos... BLAST!" I yelled, shooting the control panel. Rouge stared at me in shock. "Why didn't you shoot him?" She asked. "No one deserves to die." I replied, smiling. "He'll pay for his mistakes by going to Jail." Rouge looked at me and nodded, smiling. Eggman just stared at us.

Then, I remembered the main problem at hand. OH SH- I thought, my eyes widening, and running up to the blue hedgehog in the middle of the room. I untied him and scooped him up in my arms. "C'mon! Hurry!" I cried to Rouge, and we both left the room, blocking Eggman in to put him in jail later.

As we ran to the hospital, I slowly started to hear Sonic's breathing slow down. My eyes then became blurry as tears filled them. I ignored it and ran faster and faster. No.. No.. I won't let him go! I won't! I can't! I thought. The second we saw the hospital, just over in the distance, I heard what I never wanted to hear. Nothing. I stopped in my tracks. "Shadow! Why'd you- ..Stop..?" She asked softly. "He.. He.." I stuttered, collapsing onto my knees, my eyes equivalent to waterfalls.

I hugged Sonic tightly. "No.. Please.. Stay with me.. Don't leave me.. Please.. I need you.." I cried. Rouge put a hand on my shoulder and closed her eyes. I closed my eyes and cried on his chest. 

Rouge POV

I felt a few tears fall from my eyes. I didn't know what to say. I then noticed something bright. I stepped back from Shadow to see his red stripes were glowing, like they do when he uses his Chaos powers. I also noticed that Sonic seemed to be absorbing his tears, which were also glowing. 

Wait a minute..

Hey guys! Sorry this is so long, but I got really roped into writing it. I was also watching wholesome memes while writing it, so I started writing at 9pm perfectly fine, and finishing it at 11:30pm an emotional wreak, so there's that.
