Chapter 8

It's been exactly one hour since I've been left alone. I'm not complaining, for once I'm admiring the solitude that fills the voids of this room. Ever since I moved I haven't really had a chance to be by myself and enjoy the silence. Saying that made me think of a song I quite like by depeche mode, haven't listened to that song in a while.

Maybe they'll play it at the club? A little voice in my head whispered to me...

No, I'm not going. I'll just manage to find the easiest way to humiliate myself. I do that. Every party I've ever gone to I've managed to make a fool out myself. Like my own birthday parties, I was six years old, having a horse riding themed party. I fell off the horse and broke my arm. Yet, I still love horses, always will be my favourite mammal. Secondly, I was thirteen years old, first middle school dance. I ate a lot of food, then the one boy who I actually liked kissed me, sloppily of course, and then the next second he had my half digested marshmallows all down his shirt. Sixteen years old, my best friend's party. I get drunk, and while her boyfriends back is turned I decide to make out with her! We never spoke again after that. Although, not a bad kisser...

Anyway, point is I'm staying put. I'll sit down on the couch, cuddle some cushions and stick on Titanic. Why not let the tears run down my face and have a huge hour rant on how there was room for Jack!

How the fuck did I end up here?

Dressed in high waisted denim shorts, fishnet tights, thigh high boots, a black leather crop top and an old tattered jacket, my hair half up with a black ribbon, and some darkly themed make up, I stand inside the doors of the club. The music was loud enough to deafen someone, my ears were dripping blood at that point. No one had any sense of spacial awareness, so someone could easily catch a disease in this kind of aura.

My attention is caught by a long, platinum haired woman calling from the bar. By those maya blue eyes I could tell exactly who she was. That was Mirajane, Lisanna's sister.

"Hey Hyacinth!"

Hyacinth? Isn't that some kind of macaw? She's clearly staring at me though, so I have no choice but to go over there. I lean in over the bar, just so I can hear her properly.

"Juvia, right?"

I nod, speaking at this point is useless.

"I'm Mira! Sorry for how loud this place is! It's owned by a cranky old man called Makarov and his grandson did some redecorating! The guys are downstairs! You're friends with Gray, right?"

Gray? I wouldn't say I was, it'd be an overstatement. I just nod anyway, seeming as he's my roommate and I don't want to get into this complicated relationship we've managed to develop in just over a week.

Mira slips over the bar, trying not to make her dress slid up her legs as she does so. She takes me through a door which was behind the bar, and my ears were now, slightly, at peace since the music on the lower floor was quieter. It wasn't as packed as upstairs, thankfully. Yet I did hear some familiar screams and cheers, the infamous Natsu, without a doubt.

Lucy's eyed widen with joy as she notices me, I can't help but reciprocate her feelings with a small smile. They're sitting in a square booth, she's plastered in between Natsu, along with a ginger haired man, Cana is next to him, a tall, very muscular blonde man next to her, with quite the scar carved through his eyebrow, next to him is Gajeel, then Levy, shockingly, and finally...

Gray.

Normally he'd pretend I wasn't even in the room, but this time, all his focus was on me. His chin rested on the tip of his hands, as he continued to gaze at me with intent. My heart jolted a few paces, also gulping consuming any nerves which riddled my mouth. Mira gives me a grin and heads back upstairs, half way up she stops and turns to me, "Can I get you anything?"
