The past weeks had been nothing but mediocre, bleak, and honestly a little dim. After Natsu's surgery, Lucy was the one for him to wake up to by his side. Their problems remain unsolved. I hadn't received any context. It wasn't my place to ask, so I stayed out of it.
My days were simple. Go to class, work, do homework, and sleep. I'd been invited to a few parties, but I refused, assuming he'd be there. I hadn't seen him since the hospital. Neither of us asked about each other. Erza was still in the routine of making food for him, his eating issues had completely returned. I wonder about him, worry about him... In truth, I miss him.
Lyon had offered on multiple times more dates. I refused all. He's gotten the message, and has backed off. I was finally doing what I originally planned to at University. After being accepted, not long after the incident, I told myself I'd go to University solely for the education. Not to mess around, party, sleep around with strangers. Maybe I'd go to the odd gathering, but that'd be it. The incident still haunts me; I think about it, dream about it, relive it. My biggest moment of deja vu was when Gray and I got into that fight and I had a panic attack.
A few days before the end of term, I return to the dorms after work, and discover Lucy in a total state of panic. Undeniably shaking, eyes widened, hands covering mouth. Her bedroom door was open, and she sat on the edge of her bed. She immediately saw me, but didn't mutter a sound. What was in her hand instantly gave it away, a white stick with a blue cap on the end. Her expression indicating the answer.
"Lucy, are you okay?" My hand slivered across her back, pulling her into my hold.
Her head shook, hand tilted the stick up towards my view. 'Pregnant'.
I took the stick into my hands, attempting to grasp the information suddenly in front of me.
Lucy stood up, hand slapping to her forehead and her head shook with guilt. "I can't keep it, I can't." She repeatedly mumbled.
My main question, "Do you know who the father is?" I had a possible feeling it could be Nastu.
Her head nod, "Yeah, it's not Natsu," I gape in astonishment, "It's just some guy I screwed at a party. Wasn't even romantic."
She was unable to keep still. She kept pacing up and down her bedroom. Hands tense as they rubbed her forehead and her fist clenched ready to punch a wall.
She suddenly paused, stopped dead in her tracks and her legs seemed to weak to keep her stood up, "I'm gonna be sick-"
I followed her as she dashed towards her bathroom, quickly dropping to her knees and keeling over into the toilet to chuck up any food that entered her system. I took the hairband off my wrist and scrape her hair into a bun to get out of the way of her mouth. Once finished tying, my hand massages her back, easing away some pain.
"Maybe you just have a sickness bug?" I say as she pulled her head up, "You look really pale."
She pinched a cloth from the sink and dabbed around the corners of her mouth, "I definitely don't. My period is over a week late, I can't stand the smell of alcohol and cigarettes which is all Natsu and Gajeel seem to consume these days," Her face crinkles, "and me and the guy were so drunk we didn't even bother to use a condom."
I'm not one to judge, but that was reckless. Lucy must've have the thought pop into her head that something like this would happen if no protection was used. I'm assuming he didn't pull out either.
"Are you gonna get an abortion?"
Her head nod, eyes welling up as she stared into the tiled floor. "I think it's the best option. Having a baby and putting it up for adoption will make it so much harder for me. Besides, I'm in my first year of Uni, I have barely any money, there's no way my dad would-"
