Gray's POV:
Truth is, I don't have an insanely bad hangover. I only said that so I had an excuse not to interact with Juvia for the time she was around. I was embarrassed, I made it clear that I had no intention of starting a relationship, or being physical with her since she didn't want to just be used for her body, and yet I kept kissing her. Her lips were addictive, it was hard not to keep off them. So sweet, soft, delicate. She had good kissing techniques as well. Fuck, best kiss I ever had. Something my Mum always told me was that you can always gather so much about someone by the way they kiss. If you love it, there's definitely something about them. And from the moment I met Juvia I instantly knew there was something about her.
Another thing that was happening: A surprise birthday party. Organised by Erza and Lucy. It was happening tomorrow night, so there was another excuse for me to get absolutely wasted.
It was only me, Erza, Lucy and Natsu in the dorm. The girls were in the kitchen, still deciding whether they should add more guests or not. With a party happening at the dorms, I think the guest list will extend itself anyway.
"Should we see if her parents are available?" Lucy is still naive when it comes to Uni parties.
"I think Juvia will celebrate her birthday with her parents on her own time." I point out.
"Does she have any siblings?" Erza asks.
"Don't think so." Lucy replies.
"Okay, you girls have fun with this boring ass sounding party, I'm going out." I have something I need to do.
_ _ _
I can't believe I'm doing this. I just spent a shit load of money and now I'm outside the coffee house, hesitating to go inside. I take a deep breath, I should just get this over with. After all, it was my fault in the first place.
I open the door, Juvia is sitting on top of the counter, her nose planted inside a book. She doesn't even look up when she hears the doorbell ring.
"Gray, didn't you see the sign? We're not open yet." Lisanna claimed.
After hearing my name, that was when she looked up, gazing at me, shocked as to why I was there. She carefully shut her book and placed it next to her. What she was wearing drove me mad yet again. Short skirt, stockings, rebellious t-shirt, combat boots. I was already beginning to drool.
"I'm here for Juvia." She flinches at my words.
I pace over to her, taking a shining, navy wrapped box out of a plastic bag. I can't believe I even bothered to wrap it.
"Gray... what is this?" She used to say my name like it was a sin, now it sounds so relieving coming from her lips.
"Birthday present."
She raises an eyebrow, "But my birthday isn't until tomorrow?"
"Shut the fuck up and open it." I said that perhaps a little too forceful.
She jumps at my command and begins to tear through the paper. She rips it off pretty quickly, mainly because I have really shitty wrapping, her jaw drops. I can't tell whether she's happy or pissed, maybe a bit of both.
"Gray, I... you didn't have to do this. I told you I didn't want your money, let alone buy me a new laptop!" Okay, pissed then.
"Juvia, it really fucked me off when you denied my offer and go out of your way to get a job, and it was my fault that it broke anyway." I wasn't going to have any of her shit.
"Gray," God, now I can't help imagining her say my name in such a sexual way, or screaming it, "I can't take this, this must've cost you loads."
"Bullshit, I don't care whether you like it or not you are keeping it. I still feel like a piece of shit for breaking your laptop and treating you horribly later on that day, please?" I wasn't leaving until she was convinced.
