Lisa's Pov
After leaving my son's office, I headed upstairs. He wasn't the only person I came here to see. As much as I despised Nathaniel, we still had children and because of that, we had a relationship. I had tried to forgive him for everything but, it was hard when I saw how his selfish decisions affected our children.
When I arrived on his floor, I strutted over to the office. This time I just didn't walk in but, opted to knock instead. After hearing his voice telling me to come in, I did. He was seated at the sofa and across from him was Leslie. When she saw me, her face looked instantly annoyed. Little did she know that expression would be changing real quick.
"Lisa, what a surprise? What are you doing here?" Nathaniel said rising from his seat to embrace me.
"Don't touch me. I have no idea where your hands have been. Besides I learned a long time ago, it probably wasn't someplace clean" I snapped.
"Mom, why are you here?" Leslie scoffed rolling her eyes.
"I had some business to take care of" I hummed placing my purse on the desk.
"What kind of business?" my ex-husband questioned.
"Quiet. I'll get to you soon. Just take a seat" I murmured. He looked confused as he sat back down on the sofa.
"You just can't come in here and boss everyone around!" Leslie exclaimed obviously annoyed.
"That is enough. You know in the beginning I admit, I enabled your reckless behavior. I thought I was helping you because I knew that the divorce was a lot to handle but, I am fucking tired Leslie. I'm done sitting back and watching you make a mess of your life and others around you. You hate me for what reason? Yes, I was the one that filed for divorce because I refuse to let anyone, let alone a man, walk all over me like a damn welcome mat" I explained.
"You didn't even fight" she whined.
"Grow the hell up. A dog will be a damn dog. I'm not trying to bash your father but, let's face it, he is a dog with fleas. I gave our marriage all I could but, I can't force someone to be with me. I don't want to either. You blame me for breaking up the family but, I will not apologize for stepping out of a toxic relationship. I did what was best. Letting you make the choice to live with him and turn on your brother though was a mistake" I stated.
"I didn't turn on Leo. He is the one who pushed me away but, you wouldn't know because you always take his side!" she shouted.
"Who the hell are you yelling at?" I asked looking around confused.
"Lisa-" Nathaniel interrupted.
"Quiet. Last time I checked Leo wasn't the one trying to sleep with your boyfriend. You tried to purposely hurt him. What was the reason, huh? That boy doesn't want you. If he did, you'd be together. Leslie, continue playing these childish games and he is really going to cut you off. I have such high hopes for both of you. I love you and I just want you to let go of all this anger and resentment. In the end, it isn't going to help anything. Both of my children have so much potential, you just have to see it babygirl" I sighed running my hand along the top of her head as tears coursed down her face.
"Mom, I'm sorry" she cried.
"I think you need to talk to someone. I just want you to be okay" I whispered hugging my daughter.
It had felt like forever since the last time I had her in my arms. No matter what, she would always be my little girl. The same one I watched take her steps. The one that dragged me to all her ballet classes and dance recitals. She was my child and I couldn't give up on the person I knew she could be.
"Go clean up your face and then we can go to lunch, okay" I muttered. She nodded before standing up and leaving the office. Once she was gone, I turned around and faced Nathaniel.
"Lisa, I'm sorry" he confessed.
"Take your apology and shove it up your ass Nathan. I got tired of them years ago" I groaned rolling my eyes.
"Listen-" he began but, I cut him off.
"No. I don't have to listen to you anymore. I allowed Leonardo to come up here against my better judgment because I knew he was in love. He loves that boy and you are against it" I hissed glaring at him.
"He isn't good enough for our son" he responded.
"That isn't your decision to make. You sure as hell wasn't good enough for me but, I stayed with you because I loved you. You have no right to tell him he isn't enough because to Leo, he is. Obviously, you were a shitty a husband but, I'm not spiteful enough to ignore the fact that you are a good dad when you want to be. I will always be grateful for the moment when Leo came out and you didn't shame him. You accepted him no matter what so, how is this any different. They are going to be together no matter what so, either get in line or shut the hell up" I told him.
"Mom, I'm ready" Leslie spoke coming back into the room.
"Okay, let's go" I murmured grabbing my purse and following her out.

I was going to write the reconciliation between Leo and Jaysean but, changed my mind. I will write that one but, I felt like writing from Lisa's pov again. There will be another chapter like this and it will involve Jay's mother. So, what do we think about Lisa putting Nathaniel and Leslie in their place? Was she too harsh? How is she going to handle Jay's mother?
