-Saturday 8:45pm-

I stood at the top of the hill that overlooked the race track for the last time. It was a weird feeling. I was not going to miss these races in the slightest, but it felt like the end of a huge chapter in my life.

Not to mention I was about to become a killer, which to put it lightly was NOT on my bucket list.

I knew that being a part of the Crimson Blaze meant performing dangerous tasks, and I had always managed to avoid the worst of it. I knew men in this gang that the boss sent to go "take care of people" and in Ace's words, that meant end their life.

Tonight was about to change everything. Not that this guy deserved any fair treatment, but murder? I started to feel nauseous. How the fuck was I was supposed to race with the anticipation eating me alive?

I saw Rogue down by one of the abandoned buildings talking to the boss, and anxiety squeezed my chest. I knew the boss had no idea what we were planning, but what if he could tell Rogue was off? What if he could tell something was up? Could Rogue play it off, or would the boss be suspicious of something?

God, I am starting to overthink like Ava.

I started to feel the ground rumble, and the growl of motorcycles became more and more deafening as the seconds went on. I watched as the Snakes finally made their appearance, which meant every gang participating tonight was officially here. My eyes immediately laid on Venom, who seemed to be looking right back at me. I had to hand it to him, it was smart to always wear a helmet. That way no one could ever seek you out in the world. I don't know why the fuck I never thought to do that.

You dumbass I cursed myself as I started my bike. I drove down the hill and over to Rogue, who was looking extra uncomfortable tonight standing next to Ace. I couldn't blame the guy, however I was hoping the boss could not sense any tension. Things had to seem as normal as possible until the end of the night.

"Devil my boy!" the boss announced, staggering towards me. On the bright side, my plan was already going smoothly. I was betting on him being drunk as shit because that would make ambushing him later a tad bit easier.

"You boys have got my back tonight, right?" he asked, a smirk playing on his lips. "I know you and Rogue came to win. Fang will be late, so you will be in the first race, got it?"

"Yes sir" I responded, heading towards the starting line.

Act as normal as possible. Act like cold hearted Devil, the true ace of the Crimson Blaze. The guy who always wins. I have to win tonight so I'm on the bosses good side.

Unfortunately Venom was in the first race too. This was the only goddamn guy who I know could give me a problem winning.

He rolled up next to me, turning his head to look at me. Even though I couldn't see his face I could feel a glare, so I glared right back. This fucker was not going to put any bumps in my plan tonight.

Ava's POV

"This is the worst plan ever" I huffed, staring out the window. Gray had us parked on some tucked away back road a few blocks from the racetrack. There were no street lamps, not even moonlight, just pitch black night accompanied by the eerie feeling that we were being watched.

"What is the point of being so far away? This is hardly helping at all!"

"Ava" Gray sighed, turning around from the drivers seat. "We are waiting for Jaxon's text, then I am going to meet him at the next block. He should be there with Melissa, then I will bring her back to the car and we will leave immediately"
