Chapter 21

Maria's POV

    Lately things have been crazy the kids have been wanting everything they see they even asked me for a gigantic park in our backyard next to our pool. Eddie has been working more but he seems stressed. Every time I ask what's wrong he just brushes me off. Well today I decide that ends I'm going to make him tell me what's going on.

     The Kids are at eddies mothers house for the day so they are gone. Eddie walks through the door. Getting up I stand in front of him. "What's wrong" I ask him. He looks at me saying "nothing" then walking past me. "What's wrong I know something is wrong you've been stressing out lately" I say to him and I grab the back of his shirt trying to make him face me "damn it maria nothing is wrong" then he walks off upstairs.

     Grabbing my keys and my phone I walk out the door thinking I need to walk around. Opening the front door and locking it behind me. Checking my phone I see its only 3:42 pm. It's still summer so I just walk.

     Walking for about a good 30 min I decide to walk back. Not paying attention to where I'm going on my way home I bump into someone falling straight on my ass. Getting up to apologize I just glare because I see its Kevin I bumped into. "Not gonna apologize for bumping into me " he says. I look at him saying "no I'm not" walking past him but he grabs my arm saying "watch your back you never know what could happen to you or that little girl of yours" he says and let's go of my arm walking away.

     Going back home and locking the door behind me. I go upstairs in my room and I see Eddie sitting on the edge of the bed with his head in his hands. I close the door and he looks at me "baby I'm sorry its just I have something on my mind I'm not ok with" walking toward him "its ok we don't have to talk about it " I say to him. "We do because it concerns the kids safety" I look at him with a serious face " tell me " he looks at me saying "Kevin will be living somewhere in our area its the only place he can stay" nodding my head "what why I'm sure there are other places" Eddie shakes his head no" my dad tried for us and its the best he can do"

     Thinking it's the best time to tell him what Kevin had said to me on my walk "Well I have something to tell you" he looks at me concerned "I saw Kevin on my walk and he told me to watch my back I never know what could happen to me or liliana" I say to Eddie. He doesn't say anything but it's clear he's pissed " I swear if he hurts you or my little girl I'm going to kill him" he says and I calm him down and reassure him that we will be ok

     Soon the kids come home its about 7 and they rush to me "mommy I missed you" they to me. "Aww I missed you to my babies" Eddie comes down the stairs "I missed you guys" Josiah runs to him" DADDY I MISSED YOU " and liliana says "DADDY" and they both jump on him. I smile at the kids. I thank eddies mother and she says "Josiah is a handful he is just like my son" she says laughing I nod laughing "yes he is a handful" we hug and say goodbye after she tells me she made the kids dinner.

    Eddie goes up stairs to give the kids a bath and puts them to sleep but Josiah doesn't wanna sleep right now but liliana  knocked out around 7:30."Baby I'm gonna go to the store with Josiah" I nod my head "ok be safe" I say and they both leave and I close my eyes resting on the couch.

     I hear a crash so I get up and check it out and then I see someone in the house I was about to grab a knife but then I hear my baby liliana scream I run upstairs to go get her to see Kevin has her. I try to go get her but someone has a hold on me and I try my hardest to fight. I hear liliana screaming for me to get her and I just fight until I can get her. Before I got a chance to yell I was smacked and I hear "told you to watch your back did you really think I was gonna let you get away with having me arrested" I hear Kevin say and before I know it I hit so hard I knocked out.
