Chapter 10

After buying the things we needed, also a bit of junk food. We headed to my house since no one was home.

"Hey may I use your bathroom?" flushed Todd, I giggled and gave him directions to it. I opened the packets of materials onto the table in the living room and switched on the TV, my phone rang and I reluctantly answered it.

"Hello?"

"Claire Emilia Philips!" It was Brianna.

"Okay, I know you're mad at me for not being in school and just leaving without an explanation, yadda, yadda." I took a deep breath in and prepared for the scolding.

"Mad? Pfft, no. I saw you leave." She chuckled.

"Wait, what? What do you mean you saw me leave?"

"I had to go to the gym to get the cheerleader try outs list from Coach, I was on my way there until I saw you and Todd laughing and standing so close like a couple. " She stopped talking to me for a moment to tell someone to buzz off. I guess someone was really annoying her right now.

"...then he led you outside, I figured you two were ditching, I would have gone against it if you were ditching alone or with someone else, but since it's Todd, it's acceptable." She punctuated with a cute girly giggle.

"Oh Bri, what would I ever do without you?"I replied, we chuckled and she filled me in on what happened at school, which was interesting as Lizzy Lopez was caught kissing Daniel in the corner of the hall. We hung up and I wondered how long Todd was taking.

I got up to check and found him in our kitchen, making hot chocolate and putting a tray in the oven.

"Uh, Todd?"

"Oh hey you, I came down and saw you on the phone, so I decided to make something while you were busy. I just popped vanilla cupcakes in the oven now. I'm sorry if I invaded, I didn't want to disturb your call so i helped myself and found the ingredients." He flushed and took the apron off, folding it neatly. A guy after my own heart, blush.

"You can bake? And don't worry about it." I leaned in and opened a packet of potato chips, offering him some.

"Yeah I can bake and cook." He shrugged and popped a chip in his mouth.

"Let me guess your mom taught you?" I giggle, but he has a sad expression on his face.

"Actually no, my parents were too busy for me. My dad was busy with the company and my mom with being a wedding planner, their schedules could never fit a minute just to speak to me sometimes." He mumbled, looking down and twiddling his thumbs.
