Chapter 24
"You really love reading, don't you?"
I snapped out of my awe at the amount of books displayed on shelves of Monty's bookstore.
I decided to get new novels, as I've read mine over and over again. I think I'd donate those to the older children in the orphanage four blocks away from my house.
"Yeah, it's an escape from reality. Reading...reading, it takes me into a different universe, a different extraordinary aura given, it's simple, but so profound and i-"
I stopped midway and noticed the faint smile painted on his soft pink lips.
"Did i say something wrong?" I asked curiously.
"No, not at all. Should we look in the thriller section?" He hid his blush and started walking towards the thriller section.
I wondered to myself, is Zach going to be like this for quite a while. Is he catching feelings again?
"Ahh, there."
"Monument 14?"
"Yeah, surprised?" He chuckled and placed the book in the red plastic basket i carried.
"I didn't expect you to read, let alone thriller." I stated flabbergasted.
"Emily Laybourne caught my attention with the significance of words and intriguing cliffhangers. It was all mind blowing and-"
This time, i was the one staring.
"I guess I ramble too much" he shrugged.
"What? No, you just shocked me. I enjoyed the expressions displayed on your face, the way you spoke about the chapters and use of words. It's not only beautiful, but profound. Atleast you understand my love for reading."
He booped my nose and let out a small chuckle.
After i picked three more books; A good girls guide to murder by Holly Jackson. Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson. The Princess Bride by Willam Goldman.
Zach also pick two more books; Looking for Alaska by John Green and The Knife Of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness.
"Say, there's this great coffee shop a block away away, we should check it out. Perhaps we could enjoy an hour of reading there?" Zach suggested while placing the two separate packets that contained our books in the backseat of his car.
"I'd have to ask my Mom first, it is still a Tuesday afternoon, and she wouldn't want me being out too late." I sigh and lean back into my seat.
I suddenly heard Zach dialed a number on his cellphone. I perked up to see what in the world of cheese is he doing.
