I groggily opened an eye, taking in my surroundings. As I slowly sat up, I realised I was in my own room, comfortably buried under my blankets with my pillow tucked perfectly under my head. The back of my neck started to warm up as the morning sun rays hit my skin.
Turning around to close my close my curtains, a little notepaper stuck to the glass caught my eye.
There, written in deep blue ink was a note that read...Hey. Last night was amazing. I'm not supposed to be out during the day, but if you don't mind I thought I'd stop by for a while today.
P.S. You look cute when you're asleep
See you,
Leonardo ☺
(Hamato, not DiCaprio)As I rolled my eyes at his pathetic attempt at a joke, the memories of last night's series of events came flooding back into my head.
I cast my mind back to how we ate Pizza Gyoza and watched space heroes and danced, I felt my cheeks heating up- and this time it had nothing to do with the sun.
We're just friends, right? Nothing more, nothing less.
Right?
"Friends who danced to a love song together?"
The voice in my head challenged."No, no!" I whispered frantically. "I don't see him that way, and he most definitely doesn't see me that way."
I reread the note, my eyes lingering on that one phrase that had made my heart beat a million times faster-
"you look cute"Nothing would ever happen between us. It would compromise the relationship and-
A shrill ring from the doorbell rang out throughout the house. I stumbled clumsily out of bed, dragging my sheets with me.
I wrenched open my bedroom door's handle and upon seeing the scene in front of me, my mouth hung open in shock. And rightfully so because...
The living room looked like God had come down and blessed it.
The cushions were neatly arranged on the couch, all leftover food disposed of, and the floor looked clean enough to eat off of.
Even the mantle shelf above the TV had been dusted clean, and that area hadn't even been spared a second glance in months.
I darted to the kitchen, my eyes widening in surprise to find all the bowls and utensils Leo and I used the previous night to have been thoroughly washed, dried, and kept neatly aside.
The apartment looked even cleaner than it had been before Leo came over.
Surely he didn't do all this.
A blush crept up onto my cheeks as a thought struck me.
Didn't I fall asleep on the couch ? Then how did I get into bed?
I didn't remember waking up and going into my room.
What if Leo-
The doorbell shrieked a second time, snapping me out of my thoughts. I patted my hair down, hoping I looked mildly presentable and walked towards the entrance.
I yanked the door open, and behind it stood a girl who looked about the same age as me. Her hair was a fiery shade of ginger, and her sky blue eyes looked me up and down.
