Leo's POV
A week had passed since my encounter with y/n.We've been texting every night, trying to find the time to see each other again.

But when she didn't get back late, I somehow always had missions. Eventually we settled on Friday evening, and I couldn't help eagerly anticipating hanging out with her again.

During the day, I often found myself reminiscing about that night on the rooftops. It felt so surreal, mostly because I never thought I'd be spending time with another human.

A girl, that too.

Heaven forbid that my brothers should find out that we'd been talking.

I didn't even want to think about it. Digs at my obsession for Space Heroes was annoying enough.

However, I was beginning to think they were catching on. The other day, Donnie had found me sitting under the cherry tree in the dojo, smiling aimlessly into space.

I had been thinking about- you guessed it-   y/n.

I adored the way the corners of her eyes wrinkled when she laughed. And the way her baby hairs framed her face and how she smelled so good. And-

That's not creepy right?!
I mean, ninjas are supposed to be observant.

Anyway, I recalled how Donnie had snapped me out of my daydream by slapping me swiftly across the face.

"Leo! What on earth are you doing? Training is  supposed to start any minute now, and here you are looking like captain ryan popped out of the TV and proposed to you! " He said, exasperatedly.

As I hurriedly stood up and dusted myself off, I saw Donnie staring at me from the corner of my eye, like I was some kind of science experiment.

Like he was trying to figure me out.

Another time, Raphael had barged into my room at 2 AM,grumbling something about Mikey disturbing his rest.

He stopped when he saw me leaning against the headboard, T-phone in hand.

"Leo, why are ya grinning at your screen like that? We have training tomorrow!" He hissed, standing at the end of my bed.

I jumped, completely caught off guard. So much for being a ninja.

"What're you looking at?" He added, giving me a suspicious look.

When I didn't answer, Raph grabbed the phone from my hand, allowing me no time to react.

"Hey!" I lunged for it, successfully managing to swipe it out of his grip.

"Who's y/n?" He questioned.

"Um, a new lead? For the recent case."

"We haven't had a new case for months."

"Well,yeah but-"

"Y/n's a girls name."

"No it's not! It can be a guy's name! " I insisted.

Raphael scoffed and rolled his eyes.

"Yeah whatever. Goodnight."
He turned on his heel as made to leave, slamming my door behind him.

Leo's POV (continued)

It was finally Friday evening. After hours of training with the boys and meditating with Sensei, my muscles ached and I was sore all over. It had been a rather vigorous training today, and Raph was more relentless than usual.

Maybe he was still mad at me.

I didn't even have the headspace to meditate with  Master Splinter. Y/n kept weaving in and out of my head, with her stupidly attractive face .

I could feel Sensei's glare on me, as I shifted uncomfortably on the mat. Eventually I gave up, and with a sigh, made my way to the living room to lay on the couch.

When I finally thought I could get some rest, a high-pitched screech echoed throughout the lair.

"AHHHH" Mikey screamed, running out of the kitchen. "THE STOVE IS ON FIRE!!"

Raph sprinted from the dojo, a worried look on his face.

"Mikey! Are you okay? What happened?" He asked agitatedly, grabbing Mikey by the shoulders and shaking him.

Mikey pointed a trembling finger at the stove, where light blue flames flickered atop the burners.

Raph's face morphed into a frenzied look as realisation sunk in. With a battle cry, he jumped onto Mikey, seizing his neck and shaking him angrily.

"It's supposed to do that, you tube light!" He grunted, swinging Mikey around like a rattle.

I jumped up from the couch and tackled Raph, holding him down. Mikey quickly scooted back, gasping for air.

Once Raph had cooled down, he shook me off aggressively and marched back to the dojo. Mikey retreated into the kitchen, rubbing his neck.

Two Space Heroes episodes later, Mikey announced that dinner was ready. Gooey, steaming Mac "n" Cheese sat in the saucepan, staring invitingly at me.

My brother's served themselves, piling spoonfuls of it onto their plates. Master Splinter joined us for dinner, presumably just for the cheese.

I reached for a plate before stopping myself.

My stomach lurched and I suddenly felt queasy . I sat down next to Donnie, who looked at me questioningly.

"No appetite." I smiled weakly. "You guys finish up first. I'll head out for patrol."

"But it's my turn for patrol today." whined Mikey.

"Next time. Enjoy your dinner." I said, striding out of the lair.

The cool night air subdued my nausea, making me feel so much better. Perhaps the day's training had thrown off my diet.

I leapt from rooftop to rooftop, stopping to glance at the clock from inside a comic store. Y/n said to meet in about half an hour. No harm in being a little early, right?

When I finally arrived outside her window, I tapped the glass gently, waiting for her adorable face to appear, eyes shining with glee and surprise .We would head over to Murakami's and bond over some pizza gyoza. I couldn't wait to see her again.

Stuck in my daydream, it was a few minutes before I noticed a note stuck to the window frame. There, scrawled in y/n's handwriting was a single word-

"Help."

It felt as if the blood in my veins had frozen.

I reached for my Katanas, only for my hands or clamp down onto thin air.

How could I have forgotten my weapon?!

Wasting no time, I jumped down the fire escape, speeding back to the lair.
