Chapter 3: Attack

The next chapter's might be a lot shorter than the others but I hope you enjoy.

I followed Kion through a group of shrubs, when I exited I found him hanging his head over a secluded pond. I walked up to him careful not to step on any twigs, when I neared him I sat next to him. "You don't always have to worry about me Fuli" Kion said not looking at me. "I know I'm just concerned for you. We all are Kion, if you just tell us what's bugging you we can stop it. Your still blaming yourself aren't you?" I said and he slowly nodded. I rested my head on his shoulder and smiled while my eyes are closed. "It's nothing you can fix. It's now imbedded into my mind so you can't do anything" Kion said and I sighed. "Well your gonna have to overcome it at some point" I said and he sighed more exaggerated this time.

       "You think I don't know that? You think that since my dad is gone I'm supposed to just forget about him and act like he never existed" Kion said looking at me sternly. "No" was all I said, "than what is it then?" Kion said standing on all fours. "All I'm saying is that you don't need to think about your dad every day for the rest of your life. If you do you will miss the most important things in your life" I said crossly. "Well it's better than acting like he didn't exist at all" Kion said and I said something I knew I would regret. "Well if you worry about him so much why not join him" I said and left. I never looked back but I knew he was furious with me right now, I felt a little guilty and sad I actually said that to him because that's not what I want at all.

       Just let him blow off steam I said to myself with my head low and my ears hanging, "hey Fuli you ok?" Kiara said as I came back to the group. I never responded and walked back to my sleeping area, when I flopped down with my back to my friends. "I'm assuming it didn't go good?" Kiara said and I only huffed, "well he is stubborn some times. I was about to reply when Ono flew in frantic, "guys! We're under attack!" Ono said and I say up and looked at Kiara. "Go find Kion and bring him" she nodded and took off, "where is the attack?" I said and he flew in the direction towards the main area.

When we got there I saw the hyenas, lionesses, and the guard fighting, I sprang into action and started to fight off jaguars and leopards. I scratched a jaguars eye and they recoiled roaring in pain and anger, it looked at me and held a paw up to the scratched mark. It growled and lunged at me, I moved to the side and it landed on the ground next to me. I lunged at it and it thrashed around trying to throw me off but I used my claws to dig in and have a firm hold and it roared in anger and pain. It finally threw me off by rolling onto its back and I got squished and staggered to get up, as I did it ran at me.

I tried to move and successfully dodged it and he hit a rock that was behind me, I smiled and I heard a loud roar from above and looked up. I saw Kion with a glare and Kiara by his side and the attackers take a few steps back then run off. As Kion came down I walked up to him and we both said, "I'm sorry" we looked at each other and laughed. "No you go first" Kion said, "ok. I'm sorry for what I said earlier it was on me and it wasn't ok" I said and he started talkings "it's ok and I'm sorry for pushing you away and being mean I just miss my dad" Kion said and I smiled.

     "It's ok. I know you are sensitive about that and I shouldn't have said it" I said and we hugged. "Beat you to that tree!" Kion said and we ran off towards the tree.
