Chapter Thirty-eight

"I didn't think you would come back!" Shelly said, she jumped down from Jake's arms and started limping away with the group,
"They're gonna keep coming back!" Jake said stroking Shelly's hair,
"Jason can I talk to you!" Stella asked her eyes started to well up, she dragged Jason away and stopped walking,
"I'm 4 months pregnant! But... What really hurt me is the tape!" Stella looked at the ground, "OH SHIT! Shelly has to take a pregnancy test!" Stella had the realisation hit her,
"I can't be the father to two children! When my dad comes back after seeing granny, he'll only have been gone a year and his son would've gotten two different girls pregnant!" Jason stuttered, Stella was laughing her head off in her mind at the situation but she didn't wanna show it because she had respect for his feelings,
"If Shelly's pregnant... What are you gonna do?" Stella clutched her bump as if it were going to slip away,
"She can get an abortion!" Jason smiled sadly,
"She's against abortion!" Stella bit her lip,
"Shouldn't Shelly be a part of this conversation?" Jason realised,
"Oh yeah!" Stella ran back over to Shelly,
"We need you now!" Stella grabbed Shelly's wrist,
"Can I come?" Jake pleaded,
"Fine, don't be angry!" Stella pinched his ear,
"Ow! Ow! Stella let go you idiot!" Jake said almost in tears,
"What?" Shelly smiled,
"You may be pregnant..." Jason paused, "...with my child!"
"Shit! I didn't even think about that!" Shelly put her head on Jake's shoulder,
"Babe, what are we gonna do!" Shelly looked down, tears started dropping from her eyes like a rainstorm,
"It's okay!" Jake put his arm around her, she winced and pulled away, she started to run, "What wait Shelly come back here!" Jake, Jason and Stella ran after her, Jake grabbed her shoulder gently,
"DON'T TOUCH ME JAKE!" Shelly turned around to face Jake shrugging him off of her,
"Wha-" Jake started,
"I can't..." Shelly hesitated,
"You can't what?" Jake asked confused,
"I CAN'T DO THIS ANYMORE!" Shelly snapped,
"Do what?" Jake had tears in his eyes,
"I-" Shelly looked at the other two, then back at Jake, "I think we should break up!" Shelly ran away, she had no idea where she was headed but the forecast was for rain that night, she had no where to stay, she came upon an old bus shelter, she sat down on the floor and cried, she didn't stop until she fell asleep. Meanwhile, Jake, Jason and Stella went back to Jake's house, they plopped themselves down on the couch,
"I don't get it! What did I do wrong?!" Jake cried into Stella's shoulder, "She has no where to stay! Maybe she went back to her mum! I just wanna know if she's safe!"
"I'll call everyone! I won't let them know what's happening!" Stella said reaching for her phone, she called her mum, dad, Grandmother, Aunties and uncles, Daisy and Alfredo.
"Um... Jake no one's seen her, she's not with anyone!" Stella pulled Jake's head into her shoulder, "I think she just needed space!"
"We need to go out and look for her!" Jake said swiftly getting up and grabbing his coat.
