Chapter Seventeen: The text...

"What did he say Joey?" Shelly asked loosing her nerve,
"He said Jake would suffer the same fate as Freddie if Shelly does not comply... Who is Freddie? He also told me not to tell Jake and you can't tell Jake either otherwise he'll kill me... HE HAD A GUN!" Joey started to cry,
"Hey... It's okay I won't tell anyone, we do need to tell the police though..." Shelly hugged him,
"NO NO YOU CAN'T!!! He said if you tell the police he would kill me and Jake... He told me I have to tell you and only you... I'm scared!" Joey hugged her tighter,
"You'll be fine..." Shelly reassured, she then heard Jake's footsteps coming up the stairs, "Jake's coming!" Shelly panicked,
"Hey, oh no what's wrong Jo?" Jake asked putting his arm around Shelly's waist who was still hugging Joey,
"Bad dream!" Joey replied, "wow that kid's a quick thinker!" Shelly thought amazed, just then she got a text, it was from an unknown number,
"Babe I gotta take this!" Shelly said pointing at her phone,
"Okay! Catch you downstairs!" Jake kissed her before she left. The text read;

Shelly, Joeseph is right, we are called The Justice Bringers, I will be sending you commands you must follow in order for Jake to live, if you do not comply we will kill Jake, your first command is:

• Brake up Stella and Jason.

You must not under any circumstances show anyone this message or Jake is dead,

You have 1 hour...

"Well shit just got real!" Shelly thought, her mind was racing as fast as her heart, she couldn't do that to her friends but she loved Jake more than anything in the entire world, she had to somehow brake Jason and Stella up, they will get back together in the end, she ran down the stairs grabbed Stella and pulled her to one side,
"What do you think of Jake?" Shelly asked frantically,
"Yeah he's awesome... Are you oka-" Stella said,
"I mean is there some sort of attraction there towards him... It seemed like that, that one time by McDonalds!"
"I mean... Don't be mad..." Stella waited for the mid to say Shelly wouldn't be mad, "I have a small crush on him but I'm in love with Jay Jay, you have nothing to worry about besides your more attractive than me by a lot!" Stella admitted,
"I'm not mad at all! Plus that was a big lie!" Shelly said, it was true, Stella was just as attractive as Shelly, if not even more, she just didn't see it! "Now go talk to Jason!" Shelly pushed her away and as Stella wondered off Shelly got infuriated but there was no time for that! She ran back up the stairs and sat on Jake's bed for a minute before she heard the faint footsteps of Jake going back downstairs, Shelly was sweating like crazy, she could feel her heart pounding against her chest and she could barely stand.
"Jason!" Shelly yelled downstairs, Jason came running up, with every foot layed down on each step Shelly's heart raced further to the point where she almost died,
"Shelly? What do ya want Stella and I were talking!" Jason said kind of angry, "oh no that just made it 1000× worse!"
"Stella likes Jake!" Shelly blurted out, what was she thinking?
"You... You what?" Jason said taken aback,
"She has a crush on Jake, I had to tell you I'm sorry... She just told me!" Shelly looked down,
"I knew it... So she lied to me!" Jason was fuming, you could see the veins in his neck,
"If she asks you overheard it, you didn't get it from me!" Shelly hugged him in a sorrowful way,
"Thank Elle at least I have you to count on!" Jason hugged her back then ran downstairs, those words made Shelly feel like she had been stabbed in the chest.
Downstairs Jason strode over to Stella,
"YOU LIKE JAKE?" Jason screamed outraged,
"Woah, what you like me?" Jake confronted Stella,
"So when you were fucking me, did you secretly wish it was Jake?" Jason was scaring her,
"No babe, where did you hear this?" Stella asked,
"I overheard you and Shelly talking over there!" Jason pointed to the corner they talked in, "Do you wish that baby was Jake's?! Because right now I fucking do!" Jason screamed in her face making her cower slightly,
"YOU WERE EVESDROPPING?" Stella yelled evidently hurt.
