Chapter Twentysix: Checkup!

"Do  not worry, I'm going to murder Jason!" Jake said, his eyes went darker than Shelly had ever seen them before,

"Jake that's how I got hurt in the first place!" Shelly raised her voice forgetting the fact that she was in pain, her throat burned like fuck, she yelped in pain, Jake's eyes went soft again,

"Whats the matter?" Jake asked his voice was soft and it made Shelly feel better by 1000 times,

"Hey, lovebirds... Mind if we steal Jake back for a bit so the doctor can check up on you!" Stella smirked, Shelly stuck her tongue out at her playfully whist the doctor pulled the curtain up to check up on Shelly, the doctor had a sweet calming voice and she was unusually short,

"Hey, when am I okay to go home with Jake and Stella?" Shelly said trying to keep her voice low, she took a sip of her water on the table next to her little hospital bed,

"Lets see how you're doing after the checkup now shall we!" The doctor said. Shelly's checkup was like a game she had to blow into a tube as hard as she could to make the bird on the screen fly,

"You're lungs are doing better already!" The doctor exclaimed in surprise, Shelly's throat burned like crazy, she had to take another sip of her warm water,

"So, when can I go home?" Shelly asked hopefully, 

"I'll put these into your record and consult some other doctors!" The doctor pointed at the results and then left the room,

"Hey Shelly, how'd it go?" Stella asked hoping upon hope that she'd be back today, Stella needed moral support herself, she and Jason were really close and even though they were in dispute, she still loved him deep down, she didn't know when it would be safe to start talking to him again especially with Shelly and Jake at his throat,

"Really well, the doctor was surprised with my progress!" Shelly said sitting up in bed, "Can you pass me my phone please, I'm bored, also where's Jake?" Shelly asked,

"Sure here it is! And Jake said he had to go somewhere" Stella passed her phone,

"Thanks!" Shelly said, she swallowed hard,

Shelly without thinking or hesitation pressed "Block number", Stella sat down at the end of Shelly's bed, they were talking for around 5 minutes before Jake walked in smiling and being his natural self,

"Where were you?" Shelly asked, she was just on edge but it came out in a bad tone,

"Jeez chill, I was with Alf and Elise, they were brought in for questioning!" Jake said, his smile fading a little before it came right back and struck his cheeks,

"Okay babes!" Shelly said patting the chair next to her as if she were tempting a dog to sit down,

"How are Alf and Eli?" Stella and Shelly said simultaneously, at the same time as Jake said,

"How'd it go?" They all giggled for 5 second before, "Why don't you asked them yourself?"  Jake asked at Alfredo and Elise came in saying "Tah Dah!" Shelly giggled then pulled them both in for hugs,

"OMG hi you guys!" Shelly said, looking at the two, they looked rough, they evidently didn't get any sleep,

"I thought you might be dead!" Stella said, "It wouldn't be the worst thing!" Stella joked, Elise slapped her, "OW!" Stella rubbed her arm,

"You deserve it! Plus you talk too much!" Elise pointed an accusing finger at Stella, the others laughed,

"Don't laugh at me, why does my pain always get laughed at, first the swing incident in the park, then the climbing frame incident in the same park, man, I should avoid that park!" Stella said thinking to herself, Alfredo put his arm around Elise,

"Well, what happened, how are you?" Shelly asked waving her hand in the air to signal they should speak.
