"Hunk, I'm so excited!" Lance was practically jumping in his seat. Hunk rolled his eyes playfully, "I know Lance, you said that for the fourteenth time today."

"You think Keith will be there?" Lance asked. He had always taken a liking to Keith but refused to admit it until four months ago. During the time he acknowledged his feelings for the older, the brunette panicked. It wasn't every day someone falls in love with their "rival." It wasn't like Lance was ashamed for liking Keith. It was simply him coming to terms with himself. It took him throughout high school to fully accept his sexuality, and adding Keith onto the ice cream sundae of "bisexual" didn't help it either. The memories of his identity crisis flooded his mind and his smile faded away.

His dear heavyset friend noticed his deflated attitude. "So, Lance, I think Keith will be here."

Lance seemed to have perked up at the familiar name. "Keith?" He repeated. The dark-skinned boy nodded, smiling. "Shiro said he would be."

"Huh, I thought Keith would be doing something else." Lance glanced out the window to hide his smiling face. It was like he was receiving a birthday gift. It's ridiculous how Keith makes him feel this way.

"Geez, it's packed." Hunk pulling into the parking lot.

Lance hummed. There were many people wearing rainbow outfits. Rainbow shirts, shorts, bracelets--you name it. It was nice to see people be who they truly want to be during this month. Being here where they're people just like you warmed Lance's heart immensely. This experience will be ten times better since he's here with his friends.

Hunk managed to find a parking spot not so far from the entrance and the two got out and stretched their legs. Lance whistled after seeing the huge attraction. "This place is pretty good. Do you know where the group is?"

"They're at the front," Hunk replied, checking his phone. The brunette grinned and followed his heavyset friend into the parade. Before the parade starts there's a park full of nick-nacks that were strictly made for this month. They made their way through the crowd and saw their group standing at the front.

"Hey, guys!" Hunk waved.

"Hey Hunk, Lance," Matt called, waving back with the same amount of enthusiasm.

Romelle ran up and hugged them tightly. "I'm glad the two of you got here safely!"

Lance wheezed, feeling his bones being crushed by Romelle's inhumane strength. He dully noted not to get on her bad side if he wants to live to see another day. When Lance was released from that warm torture, he looked around for Keith amid the group. He felt a sudden ping in his heart when he didn't see him. "Where's Keith?" Lance knitted his brows, worried. Pidge jabbed her thumb over her shoulder toward the group of homophobes. "Why's he over there?" asked Lance.

She shrugged. "He just made a b-line to the group when we arrived. I'm pretty sure he's about to start a fight with them or join them, whichever the two."

"Keith isn't homophobic," Shiro stated sternly. "He's supportive of me and Adam's relationship."

"Could've fooled me." Pidge retorts, scoffing.

Keith, a homophobe? Those two shouldn't go together but it somewhat clicks. Lance shouldn't make assumptions and he knows that, but the signs were clear as day. He'd always leave the room when they talked about sexualities and looked disgusted when they watched a movie that featured a gay couple. Lance doesn't want to believe it. He didn't. If Keith was a homophobe, does that mean he never had a chance with him in the first place? Would this be the end of their friendship? Lance gritted his teeth and went over to the group of homophobes. If Keith was a homophobe, he wants to hear him say it himself.

Lance ignored the voices that called after him. He only had one goal. He was going to pray to whatever god is out there to prove him wrong. There's a possibility Lance would break down immediately but he needed to know.

"Keith!" The brunette called. The raven whipped his head around, holding a sign that says "Being Gay is a SIN."

"Lance?" Keith said barely above a whisper before glancing down at his bisexual-colored shirt. His face went through many reactions but the one that struck him was the one that seemed like disgust. "Your shirt.."

"Are you against my sexuality?"

The raven remained quiet. He wanted to know the truth. It's for his happiness, it's for his emotions. During their silent exchange, the group caught up to Lance. After a minute or so, Keith's remained silent. "Keith, I need to know!" Lance begged, grasping the raven's shoulders tightly. "Mullet, please.."

The pale boy rested his hand on his friend's. "Lance, I-"

"Get the hell outta here!" An old man shouted, "Take your cursed selves out of here!"

Shiro got in front of the two boys to block them from the hatred coming from the group of people. "Let's continue this conversation somewhere else."

The group went away from the homophobes and sat on a bench. They sat in uncomfortable silence. After a bit majority of the group left to explore some more, leaving Lance and Keith by themselves. Lance picked at the wood, deep in thought.

"Lance, I'm gay."

The brunette paused, flicking his blue eyes up at the older. He saw the disappointment in Keith's eyes. It was like he was ashamed to be gay. "Then why were you with them?"

Keith shrugged, resting his head in his arms. "I guess I was looking for acceptance. I'm not a people pleaser and I could care less about what others think of me, but I wanted to be normal."

"Being gay doesn't make you not normal Keith. It's a part of you. Instead of rejecting it, you should embrace it." Lance smiled. The raven returned the smile and sat up. "We're going to hell, huh?"

The brunette laughed. "Guess so, but I'm cool with it."

"Mh, since you are, I'll be fine too."

For the rest of the time spent at the pride festival, Lance and Keith talked and told each other the tales of discovering their sexualities.
