Calvin had been with the Legend Holders for a few days before they reached a busy town. During this time, he had learned each of their stories, how they became the Legend Holders as well their adventures before they met him. It was a lot to take in, but Calvin felt that everything they said just sort of made sense. He accepted everything without a hint of doubt because he could practically feel the honesty and sincerity coming from the three as they each took turns talking. Calvin also felt his world get very much bigger with some of the magic that the Legend Holders were able to wield.

He realized that he had gotten himself into something exciting and thrilling, something that must would call a story. Something people would call outrageous, something people would call a legend and he was happy to be in the middle of it. But he soon learned what the costs of being a comrade of the Legend Holders truly meant when they did finally arrive in that busy town.

Mari wandered off on her own, leaving the rest to stock up on supplies and find an inn.

Jared, Devin, and Calvin wanted to walk around and explore the shops so they left the finding an inn duty to Lieutenant Ross and Nadia, not that either complained. They both wanted a hot bath to wash the dirt and sweat that had built up over the couple of days.

It all started with that Innkeeper.

“‘Ello, ‘ello. Welcome to the Geutro Inn, how many rooms?” The woman asked when she heard the bell ring. She hadn’t even looked at Lieutenant Ross or Nadia when she said those words. But when the Innkeeper did, she froze in place. “uh, sorry. No rooms!” And she ushered the two out.

“Strange.” Lieutenant Ross noted. But she thought nothing of it any further and she and Nadia went off to find yet another inn. After a second and third time, Lieutenant Ross wanted answers.

“L-Lieutenant Ross, t-this isn’t a good idea.” Nadia looked around and noticed a few stares.

“Ms. Grayson, there is a reason behind all this and I wish to know it!” Lieutenant Ross reached for the door to the Geutro Inn when Calvin caught her arm.

“Trust me. You do not want to do that.” He was near out of breath.

After Lieutenant Ross and Nadia had gone off to find an inn to stay at, Jared decided he wanted to get to know Calvin a bit better and since Devin was Jared’s shadow, he tagged along as well. The three of them walked about halfway through the town before they found a message board with people crowded around it.

“What’s that?” Devin asked Jared.

“Some places are small enough where they don’t bother with a local newspaper so they place a board in the busiest place where people go so the residents can find out about the local news and stuff.” Jared explained. “Got one back in my hometown.”

“It’s also where they keep all the wanted posters of bad people.” Calvin jumped in front of Devin suddenly in an attempt to scare him, in which he succeeded.

“Ah!” Devin quickly hid behind Jared. “That’s not funny!” Devin screamed when he saw Calvin’s smirk.

“Seriously, Devin’s been through enough. The last thing he needs is some guys scaring him for kicks.” Jared stood up for Devin.

“Sorry.” Calvin was surprised by Jared’s response. “Hey, let’s go see what they’re all looking at.” Calvin suggested to change the subject. He raced over and pushed his way through to the front. Jared and Devin soon followed.

“So, what’s everyone whispering about?” Jared asked him.

“Nothing good.” Calvin’s tone got serious. He nodded to the left of him. Jared looked and his heart beat increased slightly. There at the very center of the board was Lieutenant Ross’s picture with a bounty.
