The Capacious Cloud

"Well, we're looking for a field in a marsh. And the marsh is part of a forest. That might be all we know... Oh!! And there's flowers! That's it," Chance told the group while checking off the things he knew about this quest.

Chance was traveling with Arrow, Draco, Ladon, and the Phoenix of Destiny. Arrow was Chance's best friend and companion. He was a talented dragon and could shoot arrows out of his tail. Draco was the guardian griffin of the Winged One's territory (The Capacious Cloud). He could breathe fire, shape-shift,  turn invisible, control weather, read minds (which made it a pain if you were supposed to be keeping a secret), and basically he had any superpower you could name. Of course you can't forget Ladon. He was the dragon Golden Apples in the Garden of the Hesperides. He was a fierce fighter, and you wouldn't want to be near him when he breathed fire--all 100 heads. It's worse than being at the bombing of Pearl Harbor. You've already met the Phoenix of Destiny. She wanted to tag along because she'd probably be some use being able see the future through prophecies and all. She was also very wise and knew a lot of information.

~Ladon minus the red eyes~

"There's only one possible location to fit this description--The Forest of Light," the Phoenix of Destiny replied--naturally she was the know-it-all of the group.

"Where exactly is that?" questioned Arrow, whom you wouldn't exactly call "smart".

"Well, no one really knows. The Forest of Light is a place in a myth. We can't even be sure if it's a real place--though it probably is if you dreamed about it... The myths say that the North Wind can carry you there. It seems sketchy, and I don't know if it is true, but it's all we've got," the Phoenix of Destiny answered.

"Now is not really a good time to "try". What if it fails? Are you sure it's the only way?" Chance didn't like taking chances. (sorry for the pun)

"Yes I'm sure. Come on. We should be able to catch it just now," the phoenix couldn't have said it a moment too soon. Just then, a gust of wind blew them into the sky.

~Time Skip: When they "Land"~

"Ahh!! I'm drowning!! My feathers don't work once they touch water!! Help!!" the Phoenix of Destiny pleaded.

Maybe the wind patterns were a little off today, maybe it was just the wrong time to get swept off, or maybe the myth was just false--which it was. Whatever the reason, the group got stranded in an ocean.

Draco heard the phoenix's plea and dragged her out of the ocean while staggering from the weight a bit.

The group traveled by air until they reached some land. It was a fairly industrialized city on a petite island. One particularly large building took up half the island. It said Demigod Inc.

Sorry if this reminds you of Percy Jackson or other Rick Riordan books. I'm trying to make this original. It's just that polytheism religions and their gods are so interesting. Hope you think it is original enough.

Since they had nowhere else to go, the quintet flew up to the island and stepped "foot" on land.

Not many people stopped and stared, so they figured it was a fantasy place where there were dragons.

Finally, after strolling through the streets for a while, the group made it to the enormous building they had seen on shore. It was a tall structure with greek architecture, but it still looked pretty sturdy. There were pictures of the gods--Greek, Roman, and Norse--it looked interesting...

Chance knocked on the door.

A girl around 11 opened it. She had sky blue eyes, eagle earrings, and a mischievous grin. Electricity tingled around her fingertips and she wore a shirt that had a picture of Jupiter with a dark beard...

She reminded the quintet (except Arrow who didn't know any myths) of Zeus.

"Hi, I'm Elliana. You guys must be the new riding dragons we ordered along with some other creatures to stalk the battle field. Come on in. I'll introduce you to your new owners," the girl introduced herself.

"Um...you've got the wrong dragons. I'm Chance, that's Arrow, Draco, Ladon, and the Phoenix of Destiny," Chance explained pointing to each of his friends as he introduced them, "We're trying to save a fairy, but got lost. Do you, by any chance, know where the Forest of Light is? Where are we?" Chance asked.

"We're on the island of Crete, where the mighty Zeus was trained. Specifically Demigod Inc., as said on the building. And no, I don't know where you can find this...Forest of Light, but I know someone who might... Come along!" Elliana said as she cheerfully skipped into the building.

They followed her closely not wanting to get lost. The place was gigantic!! At last they can into an office where they came face to face with Chiron--the old centaur from the myths. He definitely looked like he needed some work, with thick glasses, a wrinkled face, and a cane, but it was still the same Chiron from the myths--which apparently was reality. (Centaurs also apparently live for a really long time)

"We're looking for the Forest of Light," Arrow piped up wanting to say something. Finally he did get the chance to say something to help the group instead asking questions in which the answers he was already supposed to know. Arrow really needed to read some more books about...just about everything.

Chiron sighed, "The Forest of Light? I'm so sorry. I heard it got burned down yesterday..."
