Giants mean bad news. They're big, they're scary, they're evil. All of the monsters from your worst nightmares combined won't be half as scary. And yes, the giants are roaming the Earth. In the sea, on ice, even on land! They're everywhere and now they've Come together to destroy the Earth.
All except for one.
~Giant Examples~
Pete was a giant. He was a rock giant, the kind that could easily pass as a mountain. He wasn't as strong or as big as any of the other giants, but he was skilled at magic. Magic. It was his favorite word. He could cast all sorts of spells, moves rocks by waving his arms, he could even fly (which he chose not to because it would be a little weird to see a flying mountain). Despite his great ability, he was an outcast. Why? Because he didn't like to do the things normal giants do.
Normal giants love to kill humans. Pete didn't like to kill humans. Normal giants like to eat rock. Pete would rather eat some pizza. Normal giants rip mountains off the ground for fun. Pete would rather leave the mountains where they were and just sleep. Etc. In other words, he was not a normal giant.
~Time Skip~
Pete was in mountain mode. The giants were playing a gruesome game of capture the flag and every time, someone got killed. Pete didn't want to be that someone. Every time he got scared, mountain mode it was.
Things were going pretty well up until the moment that Craig, Pete's nemesis, walked up to him and said, "Hey ol' pal, how bout' ya stop being such a coward and play. COWARD!!"
Pete stood, "Fine."
He couldn't just let Craig harass him like that, but he knew he was going to get killed. Lose-Lose. But to he honest, he'd rather get killed then let Craig bully him forever.
"So let the games BEGIN!"
The first thing Craig did was come after Pete. Classic. Rock from Craig crashed with lighting from Pete's rune.
Pete was already tired. Casting runes was hard work and it made him tired. He would have to fight with a sword or hammer or knife or even rocks sooner or later.
Craig eyed Pete. Pete glared back at him. Suddenly, a gust of wind pushed Craig off his feet much like magic would. Craig looked at Pete accusingly.
"But I didn't..." Pete started
Then a herd of rocks tumbled towards Pete.
"You little..." Pete mumbled.
"But that wasn't ME!!" Craig protested. "I swear!"
"Then who was it huh?"
"Anyone just not me! I'm not the only one who throws rocks you know."
The 2 stared at each other for some time. Finally Pete gave in.
"I believe you. But we need to find whose's responsible."
"Then we need to work together. Can you do that?" Craig asked Pete.
"Fine." Pete grunted.
The 2 slowly but surely made a game plan to solve their mystery. They would be going on a quest to find and locate this criminal. That was the outline. The details were the hard part.
~Time Skip~
The plan was made and the giants were ready to take off.
"Please don't crush too many innocent people." Pete requested.
"Oh I will." Craig retorted.
Pete rolled his eyes.
The two slowly walked towards their destination--to the great kingdom of the wind giants. Maybe it was just a stray wind giant. And a rock giant ally.
Or maybe it was the dark, looming shadow right in front of them.
