A/N: I've been working on my flash fictions and wanted to something with them. I assure you it is under 1500 words. Enjoy! I have another one on my "The Fat Dog Series" go check that one out, too!! Comment what you think the title should be!
"Greeting my fellow friends! Today I am going to show you how to clean the toilet...er I mean use the powers of the great god of fire Aino!" Tajima Takeo--"the Valiant Warrior"-- greets everyone at the art festival.
"Clean the toilet? Seriously? Come on Taji!! When you said that last time...well I actually forgot, but it didn't go well. I had to cast like 100 spells to undo the damage. Or was it 50?" said Minori Takayuki, a great "she" sorcerer, but rather forgetful.
"Shhh...Minori. Also please don't call me Taji, it doesn't make me sound like the brave knight I am!" All Tajima got was a poke in the stomach and a "Taji it is!" from Minori.
Just then, something at the festival shattered and the room went quiet. A raccoon like thing poked its head out of a shattered art frame.
"Master I--" the Tanuki--Oki started.
"Oki! What are you doing here?! I told you to stay in your room!!" Takima paused and looked at his pet carefully, "Oh wait you have a message. Continue."
"Master I was in my room like a good boy when I noticed a green mist coming from the hall. I couldn't help but follow it! When I got there I realized it was an orb. I was like "Aww man!!!" but then it started speaking..."
"My crystal ball! How dare you!" Minori yelled.
"Uh... Well anyway it said that master is to die in 24 hours. I think it is pretty urgent," Oki continued
"And how do I know you are not pulling my tail?" Tajima questioned.
"Cause you don't have one?..."
"Um...Anyway we must stop this!!"
So Tajima Takeo called in the rest of the knights and told them not to leave his side. He called Minori to put a magical spell around him. That was the first thing that went wrong.
"Uh Taji? I kind of forgot the spell..."
"Curse you! Ah. I guess it's the prophecy. It's okay. My fellow knights will do their best to protect me, am I right?"
"Yes, sir!" The knights shouted in unison.
Things went okay for a while. Sure monsters such as the Tengu attacked, but nothing major went wrong. Until one by one the knights started to leave. One said the king called him. Another threw up. Another had a little accident with one of the tengu and somehow ended up with a missing arm. Things went downhill from there.
"Master. I don't think this is the solution. I think you have to face reality--in this case accepting your "fall"--to prevent it, if that makes sense. Perhaps the gods will pity you." Oki said.
"No way!" Tajima replied. But the more he thought about it, the more he believed Oki.
He disbanded the rest of the knights and boldly said, "If these are my last hours, then I'm going to enjoy this!" and he started to dance to his heart's content.
Then, a glowing golden light surrounded Tajima. And he started to float up. There was a flash and he was sitting in the throne room of the gods.
"Welcome Taji! I'm Aino! You have proven yourself worthy and we have a secret. The king has passed and needs a replacement. We all think you are worthy of a king facing death like that. Behold the new king!" Aino Bowed before Tajima.
"I am honored," Tajima replied. Under his breath he muttered, "And please don't call me Taji."
