The human was frozen, shaking as he watched the old goat talk to Legosi with his ruined hands. He could feel the world going numb around him, the sounds drowning out and his own thoughts remaining. His stomach twisted into knots, his head began to pound with pain. He saw the goat talking slowly as he touched Legosi's mouth, but he heard no words. Nothing was getting through but the bizarre sight before him.
W-what is this? What the hell is happening?
"Hey, Legosi!", a voice brought him back somehow. "We got in here without knowing it!"
He shook his head, "W-where? Where are we?"
The eagle looked unsure at him before pointing to the arch to the side of the group. All it took was one look for him to freeze again, heart beginning to run a marathon in his chest. Beyond the arch as a narrow street of shops, stands with bottles and displays populated by carnivores. That wasn't what drew his attention, though. He could see things hanging above the stands, red and pink shapes on display for them to see. His stomach twisted again, bringing his heart to a stop as he realized what he was looking at.
"We're in The Ghetto.", the eagle said with a hint of worry, but Alan didn't seem to listen.
Shakily, he looked back to the currently petrified wolf, "L-Legosi?"
He didn't say anything, almost entranced by the old man in front of him.
"Legosi, we should just—"
"Move, Legosi!", Bill cut him off, shoving the wolf to the side and kneeling in front of the goat eagerly.
"Hey, mister! You're selling one finger for ¥70,000, right?! So if I pay you, I can actually eat one of your fingers?"
"D-dude!", Alan said in shock.
The tiger turned to them all, "H-hey, of course, you guys want to do it too, right?! We managed to take money off our cards at the store! We'll all take a bite each, we just have to split the cost!"
Is he out of his mind?!
"Okay, let's see. 70,000 divided by six, that's about—", Legosi cut him off with a hard slap.
"What the hell, you idiot?! Don't slap my face!"
"Are you listening to yourself right now?!", Legosi asked incredulously and angry.
"Heh, that's my line.", he chuckled. "I don't plan on going with your ego now that we're in The Ghetto."
"Hey, Legosi. We didn't finish our fight, did we?"
"No, we haven't."
"Seriously?", Alan muttered while holding his head. "Of all the times to bring it back up..."
"Alright, then. I'll give you more scratches on your back.", Bill said darkly as he tensed.
Legosi's fur started to bristle as his fangs came out, "Whatever...I will never, ever..."
"Legosi, wait...", the eagle got between the two. "Look if we were at school, I'd take your side—"
"Are you serious right now?!", Alan blurted out, already knowing where that line was going to go.
"Aoba...", Legosi said.
"Look around you. This is The Ghetto, and we're carnivores."
Alan grunted.
"Well, the five of us are."
"You guys are really doing this?", he asked. "You can't actually be considering..."
