So I decided just to combine some chapters together because they were really short. Enjoy!
(Roman's POV)
"So, now that everyone is hear, let's begin the introductions." King Agnar boomed. "This is my wife Melody, and my youngest daughter Daphne." He gestured over to the queen and the little girl sitting next to her.
"Those are my two daughters, Layla and Kristine." The blond one, Kristine, gave a slight nod of acknowledgement, and the brunette, Layla, waved shyly.
"And this is my son, Virgil."
Roman glanced curiously at the darker dressed prince. "Virgil huh?" He thought, before snapping out of his daze and looking away.
"This is my ambassador's son, Logan. It is unfortunate that you will not be able to meet Rodrick, but I'm sure you will meet him in time."
Logan gave a nod to the two brothers, but then went back to sitting up ramrod straight and staring at his plate.
King Agnar then addressed the others at the table.
"These are Prince Roman and Patton. They will be staying here for a few weeks."
Apparently, everyone knew what that meant and just nodded their heads. Just then the food came out.
(Patton's POV)
The first course was the soup Patton prepared, and he became even more nervous. He was really proud of his creation but he was afraid the others wouldn't like it. A maid sat down a bowl in front of him as slight chatter filled the room.
Roman looked at him worriedly and Patton nodded at his silent question. Roman understood and looked down at the soup, smiling slightly for encouragement.
"Is there something displeasing about your soup your highness?" A monotone voice slightly startled Patton, making him turn around to face Logan.
"Oh no! There is nothing wrong with it. It's fine." Patton assured, and Logan studied him for a second, but then just nodded, picking up his spoon. The rest of the table did as well and they began to eat.
Murmurs of surprise and amazement were circulating around the room and Patton turned to Roman.
"Wow." Roman mumbled. "I'll never grow old of your cooking."
"Shh!" Patton shushed. "I don't want them knowing it was me. What if I wasn't supposed to be there? What if they think it's poisonous? What if-"
He was cut off by a loud shout from the king.
"Maids!" He boomed, and quickly two maids scurried in, bowing their heads low.
"I want you to bring in the cook who made this. I want to complement them personally." The king declared, and the maids scurried off once again. Patton turned to his brother with a blush on his cheeks and a glowing look.
"He likes it!" He squealed quietly.
The maids soon returned with one of the head chefs. She bowed low.
"I'm sorry your majesty, but we are unable to find the cook. He seems to be needed elsewhere."
The king looked in thought. "Well, tell him of our compliments, and I'd love for him to cook more often."
The chef nodded and then left the room with the maids trailing behind her. The table then continued to eat.
(Roman's POV)
After dinner, everyone got up and mingled. Roman made a beeline towards the two princesses chatting, knowing it was his duty.
"Good evening ladies, I apologize for the interruption." He said smoothly as he stood in front of them, bowing slightly. The others returned his gesture, and they made simple conversation.
Princess Kristine was the eldest, and much more polite and formal. Princess Layla, however, seemed to be a bit more carefree and emotional. By the end of the night, he had decided to try to get to know Layla a bit more.
Fun right? Even though we know he's not into girls, he's going to try. I decided to add little comments at the end of each chapter to show my opinion. Once again, please tell me if you see any mistakes! Also, if you want something to happen, comment it and I'll see if I can incorporate it into the story. Stay fabulous!
