"No offense, but I believe none of that," Jason said. The movie on the screen was paused, the only sound being Grover, Jason, and Percy's voices.

"Yeah, I'm pretty sure you just misheard his tone," Grover agreed. Percy huffed, glancing at the door to make sure Annabeth wasn't home yet.

"Guys, I swear he was being a jackass," Percy promised. "He was so mean about the pie, and even Annabeth thought-"

"He probably is allergic to apple pie," Jason reasoned. "I think you're making this all up in your head."

Percy rolled his eyes. "You guys are-"

Annabeth's laughter rang through the apartment, Luke's voice following after hers. Percy instantly tensed, and Luke and Grover sat up, ready for the show.

"Hey guys!" Annabeth greeted happily. Luke's smile faded when he noticed the guys on the couch.

"Hey Annabeth," Grover said. Jason waved.

"I'm going to go change," she said, turning to Luke. "I'll be right back, Percy will introduce you to them." She left, leaving the four guys with a lot of tension between them.

"So," Percy said. "This is Grover, and this is-"

"Yeah, that's great," Luke snapped. He sighed loudly, obviously annoyed. "Listen, I'll be in the kitchen."

He stalked out of the living room, leaving Jason and Grover with their mouths wide open.

"No way..." Grover whispered. Percy smiled smugly and laid back on the couch.

Jason stood up, an angry look on his face. "Hey, Luke-"

Percy grabbed Jason's arms and pulled him back down on the couch. "Dude, thank you, but don't."

"Who does he think he is?" Jason said, loudly enough for Luke to hear. "I didn't go to State for football for nothing. I'm putting these bad boys to use."

"Okay, violence isn't the answer," Grover said. Percy desperately tried to shush his friends, since he could hear Luke snorting at their conversation.

      "Exactly," Percy agreed. "Thank you."

"I'm just gonna go destroy his will to live," Grover suggested. "Be right back!"

"Grover, no!" Jason flipped Percy over and pinned him down, gesturing for Grover to go. "Grover!" Percy cried. "Don't-"

From the living room, Percy could hear Annabeth come into the kitchen. She said, "oh, you two are talking?"

Jason and Percy froze in their place, tangled up on the couch. Grover said, "yeah! Duke and I were just bonding."

"It's Luke," Luke corrected. Although Percy couldn't see his face, he was sure Grover was smiling sweetly.

      "Oh, really? I didn't notice."

There were a few moments of silence before Annabeth began towards the living room, so Percy and Jason jumped away from each other and sat up. Luke held her hand as they walked towards the door.

"Hey," she said warily. "We're gonna head out."

"Okay," Percy replied. "Be safe, Beth."

      She smiled. "I will. Bye!"

"Bye, Luke," Jason said through gritted teeth. Luke shot them both a cold glare, then led Annabeth out of the apartment. When the door shut, Grover ran into the living room.

"What the hell!" he cried. "What is wrong with that dude?"

"His attitude makes me think of bad thoughts, dude," Jason said. He stared at the ground with a faraway gaze, like he was imagining a murderous scene. Percy glanced at him with concern.

"Well, at least you believe me," he said. "I swear I did nothing to him."

Grover scoffed. "You should. I vote to kick his...area."

"There's a nice cliff about two blocks from here," Jason added. "Maybe-"

"Okay," Percy interrupted. "Homicide is not an option."

"So we're going with kicking his-"

"No!" Percy said. "No. He's Annabeth's boyfriend, and she's known him forever. I'm sure he's not usually like this."

"No dip, Sherlock," Jason said. "He's jealous because she's living with a total hottie. No homo."

Grover rolled his eyes. "Can you stop with the no homo?"

Percy shook his head. His friends were great, but there wasn't a day in his life where he didn't feel like punching them.

"You have to do something about this," Jason concluded. "If you don't, I will. And when I do..."

"Okay, okay," Percy said. "I'll destroy his will to live, and whatever. Can we just watch the movie?"

;;;

When Annabeth came home, she plopped herself on the couch next to Percy. Jason and Grover had left a while ago, so he was happy to have some company again.

"They didn't like each other too much, did they?" she asked.

Well, Jason was going to throw him off of a cliff. But yeah, they're totally besties!

"Nope," Percy said, popping the 'p'. They didn't say anything afterwards, just watched the rest of the movie together until it was time to go to bed.
