Percy and Annabeth didn't apologize to each other, they just started speaking as if nothing had happened. He thought it might be better that way.

A week after the fight, Luke showed up at the apartment to pick up Annabeth for a date.

"Hey Luke," Percy greeted from the couch. Luke glanced at him with an irritated expression on his face.

Percy had been feeling sick all day, (it was probably all those gummy-worms he had eaten) so he wasn't thinking straight.

You have to do something about this, Jason had told him.

He decided he'd had enough of this.

"I feel like you need a reminder that this is my house, bastard," Percy said. Luke turned around, no longer on his way to the kitchen. Percy sat up. "I don't care who you are, or how much money you have. Show some respect before I have to beat you up."

Luke's jaw fell open. He opened his mouth to respond, but that's when Annabeth walked in, smiling at the sight of her boyfriend.

"Oh, you're here!" she said. With one glance at Percy, she walked over to the couch to check his temperature. He lifted his head up towards her as she put her hand on his forehead. "You're warm. Try getting some rest, okay?"

Percy glanced over at Luke, who was red with fury. He had his hands fisted at his sides.

"Okay," he hummed. "Be safe, Beth." She ruffled his hair a bit, which made Luke even more red. Annabeth smiled sweetly.

When they were gone, Percy allowed himself to smile. As sick as it was, he found enjoyment in making himself a threat to Luke.

;;;

When Percy woke up, the living room was dark. He was still on the couch, but it was obvious that hours had passed. He was about to call Annabeth when he heard Luke's voice in the kitchen.

      "No, she has no idea."

Percy froze. Was Luke talking to Annabeth?

"Listen, what she doesn't know can't hurt her," Luke continued. He was silent for a few seconds before laughing, then said, "we've been meeting for weeks now, and she hasn't suspected a thing. Why would this time be any different?"

"The toilet flushed, and Luke lowered his voice down. Percy realized that he hadn't been talking to Annabeth.

Percy couldn't believe what he was hearing. Luke was cheating on Annabeth? On top of being a jerk to everyone else, he was also a cheater?

Luke hung up the call and pocketed his phone.

"Hey, babe," Annabeth said as she entered the kitchen. Percy wanted to tell her the truth so badly.

"Hey," Luke said. "I'm gonna get going, I have work to finish."

"Oh. Yeah, okay. I'll see you tomorrow?"

They walked into the living room, and Percy shut his eyes to trick them into thinking he was still asleep.

      "Yup," Luke said. "Goodnight."

Annabeth said her goodbyes and shut the door, sighing tiredly. She made her way towards the couch, and Percy started breathing heavily so she would believe he was asleep.

She checked his temperature again and pulled the blanket up so it covered his entire body.

      "Goodnight," she whispered.

Goodnight, he thought. She started towards the bedroom and closed the door. Percy was up for a few more hours, debating on whether he should tell Annabeth what he heard.

As he thought about what to do, he fell asleep.
