"God damn it, woman!" Jack vented in frustration.

Just what should he do?

He had been trying his best in restraining his urge to leave the wasted woman deserted out here on the streets. Why can't she see how drunk she was? Granted that she was too intoxicated to realise or even notice it herself. But still, this did not mean that she had received a green pass for being so irksome. Countless thoughts were bursting through his mind. If she had gotten into his car when he asked— If she had not drank in such a hasty manner, things would have been much easier. He wouldn't have to handle such a pain in the ass of a human.

NONONO.

If she also had not come staying in his house— Forget it, now it was not the time to make a fuss. The main priority was to get the woman into his car. And that was not a choice. He had enough of using just words, so he resorted to do what he must. The less passive but a 'job surely done' kind of option.

Jack carried Megan into his arms in bridal-style, with her legs brushed off from the ground. He did it so effortlessly that its a wonder to how light she was. She had felt like she was drifting off into the air, causing her by instinct to shut both of her eyes in awe for a few seconds. Her mouth unconsciously opened as she witnessed a scene that was presumably unbelievable to her not so active eyes.

Never did she anticipated this. Right at that moment, this scene, had made her looked extremely vulnerable. Like a baby. Okay, maybe not a literal one. but judging by the pouty child-like behaviour which was due to the severe effect of the drank alcohol, currently somewhere in the woman's digestive system.

"This is a KIDNAPPING!" She tried hustling her way out from his grasp by moving her hands in any direction that she physically was able to.

Thinking that she would somehow hinder his ability to carry her.

Unfortunately, she was caught in a trap which was founded from his natural bulky arms that were tight enough to prevent one to get released. Figuratively plus literally she had fallen into his clutches. Her legs were still left in the air, not by choice, along with her body that had his hands over her.

Since the man had such a tall and broad figure, it was a futile effort for the poor and petite young lady. Ignoring her futile struggles, he carried her into the left front seat of his car.

While he helped her putting on the seat belt, they ended up being in a close proximity. Their face were barely inches away from each other, as he was inching towards her.

She was suddenly reduced to silence, such like a mannequin. She could not do anything but have her eyes on the man that was right in front of her. Although she was in a drowsy state, her eyes seemly got sharper as time passed by, not being able to withdraw her gaze away from him. The man who was currently putting on her seatbelt, whose eyes were not even on her. She could smell his scent, and he smelled like cherries. Alluring enough for her to not be bereft of the parting from the cherry scent. However, she then had to remind herself to keep things together.

Caught in a trance.

She was drunk, and what she was experiencing was probably just illusions and not the actualising reality. Though her cheeks were blushing pinkish-red and eyes were half-opened, not daring to face him.

Once he finished buckling up her seat belt, she felt like she could breathe normally again. She was puzzled by her behaviour. She was acting like those cringy teenage girls when they have a crush on someone. Never in her life. Never. Obviously, she was not one of those kind of girls back in her younger years. In fact, she never even had a crush on anyone back then. Instead, school crushes and love affairs just made her feel nauseous right to the core of her being. She never understood it. And never experienced it. A double knot on that area.
