Megan kept pacing back and forth. Stuck in a loop of overthinking.

Come on, is not like I'm sleeping right beside him. Get a grip here with yourself, Megan!!
She took a breath in and out. Calming herself down.

After spending a good old five minutes of pouncing back and forth in her mind, she finally had gotten herself going to bed. Like her own bunk bed, below his.

Megan slowly crawled into the narrow space, making sure she does not make a sound to wake the 'monster' up above her. Fortunately, the bunk beds were not made of poor wood, or else, creaking noises could be heard.

The bed was comfortable, like really comfortable. She could literally fall into a slumber, if only she's not insomniac.

She lied down on the black coloured mattress.

Staring at the dark surface on top of her, was certainly boring.

It has been 30 minutes, remaining in the same position. She was tired of spacing out. Her body had started to feel some aching from staying in the same position.

She then decided to change her sleeping position. Not knowing that she was at the end of the edge, she accidentally tossed herself out onto the ground.

The impact was unintentional. She never knew that it would hurt this much. Oh imagining falling from the top bunk.

"Fuck!" Megan sweared loudly before proceeding to groan in pain. She clutched her elbows closely to her chest as she lied on the cold ground.

While she was busy groaning in her self-made suffering, she never realised that someone had been spectating her.

Vertically upwards from the TOP. Jack was awake. He had woken up when he heard the loud body impact right to the ground and her swearing.

"You okay?" He asked softly, while peering down at her. He hanged his arms down the edge of the bed. His voice was a mix of concern and tiredness.

"What ya think?" She said in a sarcastic tone as she rolled her eyes up at him. "Ugh...Just go back to sleep." She forced herself to sit upfront. Feeling the embarrassment, she covered her flushed face with her hands.

Falling was already bad, but having someone else to witness it...was even worse, especially him.

Knowing him despite for only a short amount of time, she knew he would use this incident to make fun of her.

She looked up again, expecting to find a smirking Jack. Instead to find him gone from her sight, not eying on her anymore.

She groaned.

Being slightly disappointed that he never went further down than asking if she was okay.

Megan made her way to her bed.

Landing with a small 'thud'  as she rolled over. Going back to the same old abyss of staying awake in conscious land.

"Why are you here?" She heard Jack's voice whispering.

"Excuse me?"

"You can't even sleep, so why bother coming here?"

"Don't think highly of yourself, old man. I'm not tryna get into your pants."

"Come on, you still hung up over that?" He chuckled in amusement. The conversation from that car ride had immensely struck her, even though he did not mean it, but how would she know?

"So what if I am- I- Is offensive!" She crossed her arms, controlling her fit.

He knew that she would not escape from this state. He had to rebound back.
