Do you know what's it like to be speechless? They say is the occurrence of one not being able to speak, when theres a sudden loss of words. To not being able to form any vowels with one's mouth, exactly like a new born who has not learnt the ABC's of  the human language.

Not being able to communicate verbally.

When you feel like there's an invisible hand grabbing you by the throat, a self-wrestling in progress...That's where non-verbal communication comes in.

With only uh's, Megan could not utter a single word. But through her eyes, he could tell that she was under his grasp.

All they could see were each other, and nothing else were in sight. Only them.

In those mere seconds. As he continue to lock his hazel eyes on contact with hers, she could not help but to remain in the same position. Till she finally had control over herself and broke free.

Utilising all the strength that she could in the moment, Megan had just knocked her head against his forehead.

"Ow...What was that for?" Jack groaned in pain as he fell backwards on the floor.

His forehead started to gain a reddish colour, while he continued to feel the lingering pain of the impact.

"That's what you get. Don't mess with me, Mister." She kept a strong front.

"What the hell, woman??!!" Jack hollered, standing up in disbelief.

Someone just headbutt him. Let alone that, it was the first time that a woman did that to him.

"Since when you got home?" Megan lazily rolled her eyes, unfazed by his reaction.

"Just minutes ago. Little missy living in a big house, must have felt lonely without anyone? Miss me?"

"Stop being weird, you are creeping me out, old man."

"I'm not that old. For your information, I'm just going to be 40." Jack said, as he carefully walked his steps towards her.

"Shut up, don't get too close to me or I'll hit you with a book. AND I promise you, it'll be much painful than that knock out. I'm serious. Just because you carried me to bed before, doesn't mean YOU have the rights to BE physically close to me!"

"Okay, my apologies Megan."

Huffing a sigh, Megan closed her sketchbook and started to clear her art materials on the floor beside her. She could feel his gaze on her, realising that he has not made a single move to leave.

"Aren't you going to leave now?" She asked Jack, as she continued to pack up her materials.

"Just checking up on you. So what were you doing? Before you gave me that welcome back home surprise."

"Why are you suddenly curious about what I'm doing?"

"Why? You doing anything illegal in my property?" He smiled.

"I was sketching, more specifically the backyard here." She heaved a small sigh, finally giving up to have a conversation with him.

"HEY! GIVE it back!" She shouted as her sketchbook was taken from grasp.

Jack picked up the sketchbook and flipped through the pages, to see all the things that she had drawn.

It was fascinating to see, he admired her works. Getting to know more about Megan, was something that has always kept him on about.

She has been his object of great curiosity for a while.

A closed off book. Just like someone.

Just as about she wanted to insult him...Jack cut her off. Well not like she had started saying anything.
