In the final moments, before the earth is bathed in darkness, a thought goes through my mind. 'What if it doesn't come again?' Because for me, every day was another walking worry. Something was always after me, hunting in the darkness. I ran away from it, I had promised I would never run but when I did I lost a piece of myself. My human self. Before I die, I need to get that part back. I need to return and fight, be normal, be human. Because the only thing monsters see is the angel, the part I hate. That's what they want. But this time, there's nothing there, this is all me and nothing more.
I sit here, in the car that belonged to my estranged father and brothers. Wearing the coat I stole from a store just down the road from my older house, a silver cross on my neck, musty old boots from my Uncle Bobby. If I was going down, I was going down with my family, what I had left. What I had left was a pair of boots from my adoptive father, a necklace form my mother, a tank-top from my brother for my birthday. I had everything I had ever wanted, and I was going to loose it.
The path to the church was littered with fallen trees, patches of rocks in the middle of the dirt, the church itself untouched, older than me and my brothers x10. Everything was still intact, doors, windows, the lot. The paint was peeling off the walls, the steeple looking sad with a few shingles still held in place. I took a deep breathe, spun my gun in my hand, and stepped out of the car. My angle blade was in hand, my hair waving widely at my forceful yet steady pace.
I came to the door and tried the handle, locked. I squared my shoulders and rammed hard into the wood.
Current Time.
I groaned, my head pounding quickly. I was laying on my back, staring at the rafters of the church, the alter in front of my. I rubbed my head, revealing sticky blood clinging to my blonde hair. I spotted my angel blade and gun scattered to the side, I lunged just as flames exploded around me, burning my wrists. I screamed in pain, falling back in pain to my knees.
Holy fire.
The light illuminated the room around my, the pews flung carelessly to the sides of the room, clearing a path for the circle of fire. I held my wrists, standing again when I heard a muffled flutter.
I raised my head from my hands and sighed, slowly turning around. There he was, my angel, my brother. He had a short hair cut, illuminating green eyes, and of course a sleek suit. I dropped my hands to my sides and sighed, "Brother."
"Sister." He said, his voice low and odd. I scoffed and shook my head. He took a step forward, an angel blade appearing in his right hand, just a little more time please. "You understand why I have to do this?" He asked glancing to the blade. "You have no right to call me sister, you know nothing about me." I spat, ignoring his question.
"Madison I know everything about you." He replied stepping closer. I crossed my arms, the fire lighting up his face. "Your name is Madison Chase Winchester. Your brothers are Sam and Dean, father John and mother Alisa. Your favorite color is red, favorite song 'Come with me now'." He paused and looked straight to me, "You fell from heaven a human, but returned an angel. An abomination."
"Abomination? You did this to me, you think I wanted this!? If your going to blame anyone blame Naomi or Metatron!" I shouted releasing my arms and pointing a finger at him. "This was nothing but your fault, you choose not to speak th-" He tried but I interrupted, "Because I had nothing to say! I knew nothing I had just found my brothers again after 3 months of hunting with my uncle. I wasn't a part of this! This is your fault, and yours alone. You got it wrong and I had to pay for it."
"I am sorry you see it that way." My brother said and sighed. At least I was safe in the fire, there was no way he could get my in here. As if he read my mind, he lightly tapped the ground with his fingers, the flames vanishing in a small area, big enough for him to step through. I backed away, beads of sweat drawing down my neck.
