I went home, pretty tired after all that happened at the field. I took a shower and changed into my PJs.To distract my exasperated mind, I took out the soulmate guide from my bag and sat down to read it.
S O U L M A T E def.
The person who accepts your flaws. The person who is destined for you. The person who will never leave you in lurch no matter what. The person who cares. The person with who, you will spend your entire life. The person who loves you unconditionally.
Blake Anderson is sure to find his soulmate this year itself. His girl. The one he has been waiting for all this time. Below it was a picture of two angels looking into each other's eyes."Well, thank you but I will not have any further nonsense." I started closing the book when a line in bold met my eye.
"Do not dare to close the book Blake." it read.
I became scared. "How did the book come to know that?" I thought out loud. I read further and another shocking piece of text met my eyes.
Your friend James will find the love of his life today. And then you will come back running to read this guide.
"This piece of sh*t is annoying me more than Loser Harlow herself."I spoke angrily. I was already tired of the series of unpleasant events happening in my life so I took Charlie for a walk outside and came back home almost so fatigued, that I slept without even waiting for mom or having dinner. The next morning I woke up. After having breakfast and taking a quick shower, I sat in my car and drove to school. I entered the campus and headed to my first period English class. I settled myself on the desk near Miss. Harlow's because I was apparently supposed to help out the new girl. God, she was getting on my nerves now!
Professor Emily entered our class in a cheerful mood.
"Good Morning Seniors. Today I will have a debating class here. And the people who will participate are: Blake Anderson and Leah Harlow." she announced.I felt like banging my head hard against the wall. Why me always?
"And the topic for the debate is: Were our forefathers happier than us?" she spoke. "Leah, shoot out." she ordered.
" Yes. They indeed were happier than us. The pollution was low and they lived in a green and better environment. " Leah initiated the conversation.
" I don't really think so. Today, pollution levels have risen to a great extent but, we also have so many facilities. Today, technology has made it easy for us to do almost anything. "I spoke the words with the utmost confidence." The crime rates were less too. " Leah spoke.
"People were illiterate and did not know how to voice their opinions." I interrupted.
"Also, they did not have rotten tomatoes like you." Leah spoke sarcastically.
"Sure enough. Which means our generation is suffering only because losers like you are born."
"You suck man," she shouted.
"You are a dumbhead." I replied.
"You are a trashcan." she pointed towards me.
"Stop this sixth grade roasting and get out of my class both of you. NOW!" Miss. Emily shouted in anger. We both got up from our desks and left the classroom.
"All your fault," Leah whispered. I couldn't control my laughter and I started laughing. A moment later, she burst out laughing too.
In the next class that followed, I kept on disturbing and nudging Leah. "Loooooooooser," I whispered.
"Stop that silly boy." She replied.
"Leah! Pay attention," the teacher shouted at her. "Stand up Miss Harlow." he scoffed.
She got up hesitantly from her seat. "Yes... Sir." she spoke.
"Tell me who is bothering you?" He narrowed his eyes at me.
His gaze was deadly.
"Nobody is bothering me, sir. I just got a bit distracted." she spoke softly.
"Very well then. Pay attention now." Professor George continued teaching.
As soon as the class got over, I ran to Leah. Struggling to keep up with her, I spoke , "Thanks for today. I did not hope that you would save me." I expressed my gratitude.
"Maybe because, I am not mean like you." she spoke in a sarcastic yet sweet tone."Hey. I am sorry about that dog thing." I apologized.
"It's fine. Sorry for that football thing too." she mumbled. "Friends maybe?" I asked extending my hand towards her.
"Hmm." she replied shaking hands with me. Then we parted and I made my way to the cafeteria.
I was pretty lost in my thoughts because of which I bumped hard into Fiona. She was coming towards me with a huge bowl of rose petals in her hands. She nearly fell down but I grabbed her by her fragile waist and the rose petals fell on us.
Fiona's POV
His dark eyes met mine. His hands had gripped my thin body. I sniffed his manly cologne which was refreshing and soothing. There was something in him no other boy in the school had. His charm was breathtaking. I had a huge crush on him in ninth grade and silly me, I never came to know when it changed to love. The sad fact was that he did not have any clue about it. For him, probably I was just a friend. He gently lifted me up.
"Are you okay?" he asked.
"I.. Umm.. I am fine. Thanks." I mumbled.
"That was so dramatic." he said laughing hard.
"Yeah.. It was." I laughed nervously. Damn, he gave me butterflies.
Blake's POV
"Okay then, Fiona. I will catch up with you later. Walk with eyes open, by the way." I laughed and went away. Suddenly, my phone rang. I quickly dug my hands in my pocket and took out my phone. It was James. I answered the call. "Hey Blake. Hi Blake." I could hear two familiar voices. Ethan was on the call too. It was a merged call."Well, I have called you both to tell you something." James spoke. "I have found my girl. I got into a relationship with Stacy Adams. Meet me near the field. Right now."
He hung up without even allowing us to speak. I became pale. I was shocked. So, the guide's prophecy was true. James actually found the love of his life. That was a MIRACLE.
