"Not gonna show it to me?," I smirked.
"Even if I did show, it would not have any point. It will anyway appear blank to you," He spoke trying to potray himself as the coolest person in the universe. This boy is crazy. Literally.
"Yeah whatever," I mumbled in annoyance.
We both got distracted by the sound of the doorbell.
"Might be the noodles, I'll just bring them up," He chirped happily.
"I thought that one of your house helps would bring them up,"
"Certainly, I can do my own work," he retorted back.He made his way to the tall white door and disappeared.
I got up to examine his room. It was painted in pastel colours with a poster of 1D by the side of his study. There was a video game set up in a little corridor within his room. His bookshelf had an enormous number of books. They were almost bulging out, ready to fall the moment you touch them. My eyes caught the red book which Blake had been holding previously. I could not resist the urge to explore it. I took it out gently.
THE SOULMATE GUIDE
What was that? The ancient design and the velvety cover of the book intrigued me deeply. I had always been very fascinated by the concept of soulmates, destiny and true love. I opened the book when I heard Blake's fast footsteps running up the stairs accompanied by the delicious aroma of the noodles. I was dumbstruck. I quickly pushed the book in exactly the same shelf where it had been kept previously and sat down at my place pretending that nothing had happened.
"Look what I got," he made his way to me.
We both ate the noodles, chatting and laughing as the minutes passed by. Blake was eating those noodles with such keen relish, it appeared as if he had been starving since morning. The sparkle in his eyes was priceless. I was so happy at the fact that he was finally happy and that I had managed to make him smile. I glanced at my wristwatch. Seven o'clock. What? I had been there for six whole hours. It was unbelievable.
"I am sorry Blake, I really gotta go," I waved him a quick goodbye when he held my wrist.
"Thank you Leah. You made my day less shitty than usual," He gave me a genuine smile.
"Loser Harlow always at your service sir," I chuckled.
I made my way down the stairs and at the end of the stairs, stood Blake's mother.
"I hope you had a lovely time," she chuckled excitedly. "I like you," she said handing a card to me. "You are always invited to my tea parties" she winked at me.
"Sure, I would love to," I lied to her. Being brutally honest here, I hate tea parties. All that the ladies do is gossip. I don't think I belong to that category.
"Thank you for your time," I smiled at her as I made my way out of the house.
"Hope you had a good day madam," A driver bowed in front of me as he opened the car door. I raised my neck upwards to find Blake standing on the balcony.
"I couldn't let you go alone, okay?," he shouted from up there.
"Bye Blake," I smiled at him as I sat in the magnificent car.***********
Fiona's POV
"You are welcome aboard our flight. Thank you for flying with us," The air-hostess greeted me with a warm smile. My eyes searched for seat number 32A. I made my way through the aisle when my eyes caught a glimpse of the seat. I made my way towards it and sat by the window.I had been receiving texts all this morning regarding my sudden departure. I even got a message from the head of the competition, begging me to stay for the award ceremony as I had bagged the first prize in the modeling contest. I did not give a damn to them. Blake needs me. I cannot even describe how precious Charlie was to Blake. I had to reach NY today itself.
A citrus summer fragrance filled the aircraft as the announcement alerted the passengers for the take off. I fastened my seatbelt and put on my blindfold. As air journeys made me sick, I always preferred sleeping the entire time, rather than consuming the disgusting flight food or bearing the dramatic flight precautions for the zillionth time.
I opened my eyes. I saw a refreshing tissue kept by the side of my seat. I teared it with one hand and took out a small circular mirror from my purse with the other. My face became red on the sides which made me realize that I hadn't slept quite comfortably. I wiped my face and did a quick touch up. Six hours had passed already. I had the almost tasteless food for the sake of my gurgling stomach. The only thing that happened to be worthy of consumption was the small chocolate pastry with choco-chips seasoning.
Two hours passed in a blow and I landed at John F. Kennedy International airport. I collected my luggage and headed out of the airport. The sunny weather convinced me to put on my sunglasses, as I made my way to my car.
"To home?," The driver asked me.
"Drive straight to Anderson residence," I smirked. I knew that it was impossible to find Blake at school because after Charlie's death, nobody would have been able to console him to rejoin school. He needs me. I am the only one who can bring back the smiling Blake. In the middle of the way, I stopped the car to buy a rose bouquet for him. Blake loves white roses. I couldn't wait to meet him.I stepped out of the car and cupped my free hand near my mouth, "Look who's home, Blake," I shouted.
Bexley stepped out from the main gate.
"Good morning, Fiona madam," She greeted.
"Where's Blake?," I asked her impatiently.
"He is at school madam," She replied.I was shocked. I couldn't bear the fact that Blake was at school. Even after all this, how?
"Why is he at school? Charlie died right?," I asked her annoyed.
"Leah madam came last night and convinced him to come," She spoke.I squeezed the roses in anger and as the thorns pierced through my palms, blood drops hit the floor one by one, the sound reminding me of my misery. Tears welled up in my eyes as I banged the car door close and left, my delicate heart shattered to tiny crystals after Leah stepped on it.
