I quickly slipped into my carpet sleepers. I made my way downstairs trying to make absolutely no noise. I took my car keys from the drawer and sneaked out of the house, sweating nervously. I had to make sure mom didn't wake up by my clumsy movements. I hopped into my car and drove to the nearest McDonald's takeaway. I ordered two double-decker chicken burgers along with french fries and a little cone of vanilla ice-cream. After that, I drove to Fiona's place. The door was locked. Damn!
I did not have the nerve to knock even though I knew that Fiona was alone. I feared her reaction. What would she say? Would she let me in or ask me to go away? Not allowing my insecure mind to splash water over my ideas, I decided to climb up and enter through the window.
"Hey, it's me. Blake." I whispered to her.
She screamed like an idiot.
I covered her mouth with my palms. "Hush!" I whispered.
"Jesus! You scared me. Now would you like to mention why on earth are you here in my room at such odd hours and that too through the window?" She asked astonished.
"You didn't answer my text!" I replied.
"Why do you even care? If you cared enough, you would have chosen to stay at the party." She spoke seeming upset."Hey I'm sorry, okay? I know I overreacted but I couldn't help it. Even if it was you or any other girl, I would have done the same thing." I replied.
"So I am just another girl to you, right?" she spoke even more annoyed by the statement."Of course not. Okay fine. I am really sorry Ms. Jennings. I promise that I will stay by your side forever like a true friend. Now smile and look what I got for you." I spoke showing her the packet.
I placed a hand over her shoulder.
"Okay fine. Now quickly open it, I am hungry." She spoke with happiness clearly visible in her dark eyes.
She was so childish.
We had a heart- warming conversation for hours when I finally got up.
"Okay. I have to leave now. It's already four in the morning. My mom shouldn't catch even a glimpse of this late night meeting. Catch you in school." I said chuckling.
"Sure. Go by the door please." She said placing her fist on her temples.I quickly drove back home and tiptoed upstairs to my room. I hid under the covers to pretend that I had been sleeping all this while. Of course, my mind is a warehouse of genius ideas! I didn't realize when I fell asleep.
Fiona's POV
He is such a great guy. Damn. I have met so many guys. So many have asked me out too. Why was he so special? Why was it that every time he left, he took a piece of my heart away? Why was it that I couldn't ever stay mad at him? Not even for sometime? His aura was unique. I loved him when he smiled through his cheeks, I loved every single detail of him. I was madly in love with Mr. Anderson. I closed my eyes to sleep hoping that he would make his way into my dreams as well and beautify them.Blake's POV
I woke up to a clear, sunny morning. I freshened up quickly and headed to the bathroom for a shower. I came out and dried my hair. Without further delay, I immediately sat at my desk and opened the guide.Oh Blake. Here you are again. Are you ready to inch a step closer to your soulmate?
"Totally." I cheered with excitement.
Well, my boy. Your soulmate, just like you, is deprived of her parents' love. She is an orphan. But like you have a caring mother disguised as your stepmom, she has someone too. To look after her, to comfort her, to fulfill her demands. You both are made for each other. She may know it. She may not. But you are to find her. To take hold of her hands. To take her closer to your heart. You are your own weapon. Find her Blake, it's your opportunity. Goodbye, until tomorrow.
I closed the guide, my mind still entangled with the mystery of my girl. I had begun to smile alot. This girl made me do it. The fact that there was someone made just for me made my spine tingle. It was an absurd combination of fear and excitement but also, it was weirdly satisfying. I spent more time than I usually did in selecting clothes for school. I wanted to look devilishly handsome. After all, my soulmate is my batchmate. Whoever it is, I can't stand a chance to look shabbily dressed in front of her.
I had my breakfast and headed to my car. At school, everyone seemed pretty normal. No one was giving me weird looks. Phew! Probably everyone had forgotten about last night's incident. I had imagined everything like a stereotypical high-school movie but thankfully, no one was bothered. The movies over-exaggerate a lot I tell you!
Yet again, I met Leah. She was accompanied by a lot of my other friends namely James, Stacy, Ethan and Rachel. They all kept staring at me as though I had done something wrong.
"What?" I asked pretty confused.
"Speak up, Leah." Rachel said excitedly.
"I...Umm...I." Leah kept stammering nervously.
"I what?" I asked still strugging to make out things.
"I love you, Blake." She spoke.
