"Yes Blake, It's me." She whispered.

I stood frozen as I felt my knees turn weaker with every breath. The nervousness that clung to my stomach was indescribable. I was shivering, with every nerve in my body ready to burst at the excitingly frightening situation.

"Leah I..." I felt as if my voice was trapped within my throat.

She shushed me as her finger softly brushed against my lips. "I love this nervous Blake. I really do." She whispered with an unfazed smile.

Her chocolate brown hair sparkled in the partly shared spotlight as she casually circled my figure. I gazed at her with the utmost bewilderment, unable to react to the situation.

"I have been here, all this while. Your soulmate. Dumbo Anderson's soulmate." She chuckled softly as she played with her fingers. "How could you not know Blake? Every characteristic mentioned in the guide tells you that it is me. Every single one."
She halted in front of me, piercing her gaze into mine.

"Leah, none of the characteristics matched you. I have been trying hard; because a part of me always wanted you to be the one. But unfortunately..." I inhaled deeply. "Life isn't always what you want it to be like."

"Blake, hold your heart; you really are in for an adventure." She whispered, the smile never leaving her countenance. "I have a long story to narrate. Previously, I used to be a part of Wescott High School, New Jersey. I studied there for more than eight years, and the students knew me too well. Too well for my liking. Being the class topper and always the first one to submit assignments doesn't come easy. Being a 'nerd' doesn't come easy. It comes with lots of bullying and mental torture."

"Leah, I really don't know what you are talking about. All I know is that, it is driving me insane." I tried to maintain my composure, which had been falling apart lately.

"This is just the beginning Blake. You gotta know it all." She smiled and continued. "You know what's the worst part? They bullied me. For wearing thick rimmed spectacles, they bullied me. For being too kind and always ending up being a major target for all their nuisances, they bullied me. And the worst of all is that, they bullied me for being an orphan. Dammit Blake, I never knew people could be this ruthless." She trailed off, her voice choking slightly and her lips trembling in light motion.

"You are an orphan? Leah, please explain. Stop being so ambiguous about everything for God's sake. I am dying with every word." I felt my cheeks turn warmer. It was heartbreaking to see Leah break down so easily. I wanted to comfort her, to tell her that I was there for her. But I wanted to hear more from her. I wanted to know every single thing.

"Yes, I am an orphan. My parents died in a car accident when I was four and a half years old. I was admitted to Liliana Orphanage on the 13th of August. That's my birthday for you all. After spending three years of my life there, I was adopted by Mr. Aaron Harlow and his wife, Mrs. Isabella Carter. But they still love me and care for me like my own parents. I never felt like I wasn't their real daughter. And you know someone who has been there for me throughout? The boy who dropped me here and is standing at the far end of the hall." She pointed and as if on cue, a tall figure came into light.
