"surprise!" everyone screamed
jump up from the furniture between
confetti and music from the band
it is what he just planned

it's finally happening,
a month from now was ellie's bday and no one in her family was gonna ruin it.

her 21st was ruined by her drunk cousin, Cheryl because she was lonely,

her 22nd was ruined again by her mom crying that she was getting older,

her 23rd was ruined yet again by Archie for not coming because he was drunk and in a strip club,

and her 24th was almost
not ruined but because SOMEONE decided drinking vodka while it's on fire was a good idea.

well it wasn't and they dropped the drink, setting fire to the bar. it collapsed, almost killing betty and amie.

Amie walks in the bar with a surprise announcement in her special dress and her beloved toni instead of jughead was there instead, wiping glasses with a cloth

she tiptoed to her and scared her straight. toni yelped, broke one of the beers and pointed it to amie, which she now realizes

Toni nervously chuckled and put down the weaponized beer bottle. she threw it away in the trash and started picking up pieces of the broken glass

"what brings you here?" toni stopped doing what she's doing and looked up to Amie.

Amie just kissed her on the cheek, moved the shattered glass slowly in front of her to the side and sat down.

"i was just around and wanted to ask dear old jughead something" she put her head in her hands and sighed while she admired toni from afar.

her hair's in a high ponytail with a few strands on the side of her face, she was wearing a maid costume for some reason but she still loved it

"well, jug's not here. he's overslept. again. that kid has sleeping his whole life in his bucket list." toni scoffs and finishes picking up the shards of glass.

"well, what are you gonna ask jug? i'm sure i could pass it along" she smiled and decided to make her iced tea.

"well, in a month it's gonna be el- juliet's birthday and while we hide from her vicious parents and avoid phone calls asking where we are again, juliet has been really happy...."

amie smiles as she gets the iced tea toni makes her and slowly mixes it with the straw that it came with.

"...her fiancé- EX-fiancé really has been holding her back to life as it is. he was trying to take control, doing everything he can to make his life end with wife and children near him as he slowly drifts away but that intense bid for control has made his life even worse and... and- well..." amie took a sip before continuing

"...he took Julie along with him, so i'm very happy for Julie to escape the very chains of his" toni went around the bar and sat beside the stool near amie and threw her arm around amie's shoulder

she felt a slight tear escape but quickly wiped it off before toni could even notice the it.

"anyways, her birthday is coming up next month and i need his advice since i am actually very bad at hosting a birthday party. even when i organized her fabulous wedding- you should've been there" amie replies with happy tone and chuckles to change the atmosphere.

"well, i can very well call him but i have to warn you- he's not good at making suprise parties too." toni smiled and patted amie's back

"thank you!" amie squealed and started jumping up and down with Toni but a question entered her mind during

"by the way- what's with the outfit?" amie stopped to catch her breath and said after she did

"there's a theme tonight at the bar and it's about being cute or something" toni showed off the outfit by spinning around.

"well, you are nailing the theme right now" amie smiled widely and clapped her hands together.

the pair both wondered what would happen between them when they finally acknowledged their feelings.

they were still in the date phase so everything was still confusing but someday, they'll know.
