CHRISTINE's POV

Jace looked stunned as if he just received the most shocking news of his life that he couldn't even utter a word. His lips parted, his eyes went wide and he looked funny. I gently flicked the tip of his nose with my fingers.

"You look so funny." I said with a hint of amusement. He swallowed hard as his eyes never left mine. He really looked like he couldn't believe what I've just said.

"D-Do you mean..."

"Yes." His eyes widened once again and before I could react, he cupped my face with his hands and then kissed me hard on the lips which almost robbed me off my breath. We were both catching our breaths when he finally decided to end the kiss.

I smacked his arm. "Are you planning to kill me?!" He laughed heartily. He looked so lively, like a kid on Christmas eve.

"Of course, not. I'm just so happy right now. Damn. I can't believe that this day could actually happen." He sounded so happy and full of energy but I gaped at him when tears suddenly fell from his eyes. He chuckled when he realized that he was already crying and then wiped his tears with the back of his hand.

"Why the tears?" I couldn't help but ask, hiding my amusement. Jace was always been a proud man but softy inside. He frequently says in the past that our family was his weakness and now, I could see the proof of that.

He hates it when other people see him being weak but he never hides that side of him from me even before we got separated three years ago.

"Because I can't believe it. I-I thought, you would never forgive me anymore. I thought, you don't love me anymore because you kept on pushing me away and insisting for us to get divorced." He caressed my cheek as he gazed at me full of love. "If this was a dream, I don't want to wake up again."

I couldn't hold back my laugh. "You're still as corny as ever."

Suddenly, I've come to realized that this was the lightest conversation that we had ever since we got separated. There were smiles on our faces and it was refreshing.

Instead of commenting, he remained staring at me in awe as if I was the most beautiful woman he had ever laid his eyes on. I waved my hand before his face.

"Hey. Stop staring at me like that." I rebuked softly. A sweet smile appeared on his face. He took my hand and then kissed the back of it.

"You're the only one who brings out this side of me. I hate being corny but when it comes to you, my corniness spontaneously comes out just like that. You're the only one who has this effect on me. I love you, mi amor. So much that it hurts so bad everytime you're robbing it on my face that you want to divorce me." He was about to kiss me when I remembered something. I gently pushed him on the chest. His eyebrows furrowed.

"W-Why, mi amor?" Worry passed through his eyes. I took a deep breath.

"I have something to tell you first before anything else." I caught a glimpse of his Adam's apple move, indicating that he gulped.

"What is it about?" He really looked worried. I took another breath before answering.

"If you want us to be together again, I have a condition. It's up to you if you accept it or not. If you think that you can't follow it, then let's pretend like this conversation never happened and go on our separate ways for good." His eyes widened as panic registered on his handsome face.
