Charlotte:

The thick metal doors loomed ahead, fortified, and meant to keep those inside safe from out side attackers. Unfortunately, that meant that the doors are locked from the inside, and though there are many men yelling for someone to unlock it, they can't be heard over the screams from the inside. I have never heard such a devastating sound, so many women confined together, going through who knows what kind of hell... Men sure. I've been to war. Women though...

Jasper and Damien made it to the front, the rest of the men parting to allow them through. They spoke quietly before working together, alternating between kicking, and using their shoulders to try and break down the large steel door. The other men joined where they could, the metal bowing slightly with impact as they combined their efforts.

The screaming intensified as the smell of blood wafts from under the door. The wails of those inside lurching my stuttering heart into an uneasy pattern.

"Open the damn door!" Damien demands with a shout, authority dripping from every syllable. Made me want to unlock it out of sheer panic to do what he asked and I'm on the wrong damn side.

The sounds from inside seem muffled as the men continue the barrage against the door.

"Of bloody fucking course we'd use a metal doorway!" Heath seethed after ramming his enormous side into it. His husky brogue deepening with each word forced out in fury. Anger runs its course along each of their faces as they seem to make no progress even when they put their all into each hit.

"It was to protect us is we had to hunker down!" Roman yelled. "My fucking kids are in there!"

Fuck.

I've never been big enough to use my body as a ramming rod. Watching the huge men before me using their bodies to try and bend the elements fills me with a sense of helplessness. I cannot assist in this instance. The shouting from inside intensified, panicked voices turning into bloodcurdling screams.

"Hazel no!"

Whatever Hazel had done escalated the situation. Several more screams rang out seemingly farther into the warehouse, my heart racing with the need to do something. A piercing roar split through the air as Declan rammed his body hard enough to split skin.

I feel a shift in the air beside me as Maze sidles up, giving me a once over while tugging on my shirt to follow her. A sly grin slides onto her face as she takes in my disheveled appearance. The t-shirt barely covering the tops of my thighs, loose on my shoulders. My breasts mounding out with the lack of bra to hold them down.

"Cute." She muttered, pulling me over to the side of the building. Long weeds took over most of the area covering a lot of the space underneath the window she pointed to. She took out a knife the size of her shin from a sheath on her calf. I mentally pinched myself for not having noticed it sooner. What the hell is she going to do with that?

I took an uneasy step back, slightly widening my stance, ready for combat, in case she decided to take a swing at me. I remember a few times she'd caught me off guard in the past. We'd been rivals then, I thought we had gotten passed it but with recent events... my trust meter is shot to hell. I don't even trust my own judgement at this point.

Proving my suspicious thoughts pointless she hacked at the overgrown shrubbery. Slicing until there was a path leading to just under the window. I hadn't realized she could move so fast; her blade was barely a sliver in the sunlight. She stopped, turning her toothy grin at me, metal band on her bottom lip shining as silver as her gleaming eyes. "Give me a lift?"

My face split into an answering smile, this had been something we'd done once before, We'd been sent by Killian to a remote island off the Caribbean. A wayward employee had stolen files from Night Industries database. Downloading classified information about many of the clients Maze and myself personally see to. A huge no-no that gets someone more than a slap on the wrist and no cookies at snack time.
