XIAO ZHAN looked at his mother lying on the hospital bed. He can't help but to feel bad and sad. Bad because he still can't do something for her to get the operation immediately and sad because she needs to get through all of this hardship and pain.

Zhan's mother is having a breast cancer, stage 3. She needs operation immediately before it spread to other parts of her body. But now, he can't do something about it. They've been here at the hospital for already one week. The bill of their room is surely high. The doctor said they need to start the chemotherapy as soon as possible before it get worsen but Zhan doesn't have enough money for that.

He sighed heavily before closing his eyes. He feel helpless. Being the first born is harder than he thought. He is the one who needs to do everything. Zhan's father already died for about 10 years ago. Now, he is the one who stand like a father to his two siblings and of course to his mother.

A tear escape from his eyes, realizing how hard to live in this cruel world. Out of all the people in this world, why does his mother should be the one to carry that cancer? Yanli and Zhuocheng, his two siblings is still studying. They can't stop now because they're already graduating in highschool. Both of them actually since they're twins. Fraternal twins to be exact.

Zhan immediately wipe his tears when the door open. He saw Yanli walking in with her bag on her back.

She walked towards me, "Zhan," she called him and give him a quick kiss on his cheeks before getting closer to their mother and kissed her too.

"Where's Zhuocheng?" He asked while fixing Yanli's things.

Yanli shrugged, "I don't know. After our class, he said he'll just do something and I should go first," she replied.

Yanli sat on the couch, "Are you going, Zhan?"

Zhan nodded, "Yeah. I need to work," he said and pulled his wallet from his pocket and get some money, "here. Buy your dinner. I'll be back late," he said.

Yanli shook her hand, "no need, Zhan. Keep it. I still have extra money for my dinner. We'll survive," she assured him by giving him a big smile.

Zhan is really thankful to have a siblings like Yanli and Zhuocheng. They understand their situation well. They grew up in a poor family that's why they know how to deal with it everyday.

While walking on the road, his phone rang. Yubin is calling him. His best friend.

"Yeah?" He answered

He heard Yubin sighed, "How's your mom?" He asked

Zhan chuckled dryly, "surviving," he whispered.

"Come on, Zhan. Just work here at the bar and I can assure you, the money is easy here," he pursued him.

Since last month, Yubin keep pestering him to work on the bar where he is working. He said that money is easy there because they have a lot of big time customer around that bar. But Zhan didn't accept it.

He already found a job. A job that will change his life. A job with sure easy money, but hellish life.

"Yubin, I'm fine. I can work for my mom's hospital bill don't worry," he assured his best friend.

Yubin sighed on the other line, "Fine! Just don't hesitate to call me when you need help okay?"

Zhan automatically smile hearing his best friend. Yes, he grew up in a cruel world, but he definitely have the best family and best friend ever.

"I will. Thank you, Yubin." He said before ending the call.

Zhan reached Mr. Cheng's life house, "Oh, Zhan! You're here! Your first customer is waiting for you," he happily said.
