Amelia had felt uneasy all day as she clock watched. Knowing that Thomas Shelby was close by and know longer confided to his domain of Birmingham, it was incredibly nerving.
The sight of him earlier that morning had bought back all the feelings she had tried so hard to push down. It could only be described as explosive hatred and sadness. It was unbelievable to her that only four months ago she by his side, hand in hand and looking forward to a future.
Instead she ended up bloody on a church floor and then abandoned in a hospital by the man she thought was the love of her life. The day she left Birmingham she had made a promise that she would never let herself be hurt again.
Just as her last patient left her office she sat down and began to finish off her paperwork. Tonight she was all alone and was dreading going back to her empty house.
Suddenly the phone on her desk rang, Amelia jumped, still not use to the sound of the telephone before she hesitantly picked it up.
"Hello?"
"Amelia?"
Amelia suddenly beamed, it was Ada on the other line.
"Ada! It's so nice to hear your voice. Did you get my letter?" Amelia asked, her mood suddenly lightening.
Ada chucked down the phone "Love you need to get with the times. It's easier to just call"
Amelia blushed, grateful that she was alone in her office.
"I know I know, anyway how are you?"
"I'm good, you know? It hasn't been the same here since you left Amelia. I didn't know what to do with myself. I'm thinking about coming to see you within the next few weeks. Is that okay?"
Amelia breathed a sigh of relief that the conversation wasn't going to go to her leaving.
"Of course! Let me know when you can come. You'll love it here Ada. It's full of forward thinkers like you"
Ada chucked "We will see eh? Anyway I have to go. Speak soon okay?"
"Yes, speak soon. Bye Ada"

Tommy stood underneath a street lamp that hadn't been lit yet as he puffed his cigarette. The cold air and snow that was falling wasn't enough for him to leave. Tommy had to see for himself before he left for Birmingham. Even if it was the last time, we'll, that's what he told himself.
Soon he saw her step out of the tall, old building with her coat expertly wrapped around her frame. The snow was already landing in her hair as she made her way down the street alone. Tommy remembered that she loved winter especially when it snowed and wondered if she was happy here.
Tommy felt his feet begin to move and his body being pulled towards her. It wasn't what he wanted but now that that he could see her he couldn't make his feet stop.
For just a second he thought about calling out to her, to see her face but then he remembered the look she had given him earlier. Remembered the anger in her pretty green eyes. It was deserved, fuck, he knew it was deserved but it didn't stop him selfishly wanting to speak to her and listen to her voice.
"Amelia!" He heard from the other side of the street. Tommy watched as a man made his way over "I thought it was you!"
"Oh John! Nice to see you" she said as she blinked into the snow.
Tommy watched as 'John' placed his hand on her arm, watched the way she smiled up at him. It was like a bullet to his chest.
Tommy had no right to feel angry or jealous but he did. Tommy had no right to want to go over there and slice the mans face open.
