Tommy had spent the whole day going over business with Alfie Solomon's. It had been a long eventful day as they began to introduce new recruits into the areas that Alfie was weak.
Alfie had preyed on those that where weak and sent them packing which meant Tommy had to round a few more men up.
John was out speaking to Tommy's most trusted blinders, trying to gather information on Amelia's latest whereabouts. Having not been home since Arthur's wedding Tommy wondered which friend she was staying with. It wasn't the man who was pursuing her as his house was being watched.
It wasn't long before John came back with information of an event happening at the hospital she worked at. It was an investors event that this John character had invited her to as his date.
Amelia hadn't taken his warning seriously. It annoyed him. The games. The chasing. If she hadn't of kissed him he would of left her alone but she did.
Tommy paid the investors fee to get into the event and advised John to be on his best behaviour.

Amelia was frustrated but she didn't let it show. As she slipped into her red gown that hung across her shoulders, hugged her small waist and flared at her hips slightly she wondered if this was here life now.Once she looked in the mirror she cursed herself for taking this risk.
Tommy had no right to her love life, none at all. It didn't help, as she told herself over and over again that it was one night, she could break things off with John and focus on getting her life together again.
If Tommy intervened anymore she would simply move. There was nothing tying her down here. This was her new plan.
Amelia slipped on a pair of tear drop earrings and dashed her wrists with perfume. Everything looked great but she knew this was wasted on a boring investors dinner.
The only thing that would salvage the evening was that Jessica and Lisa would be there with dates. They had all made a plan to try and sit together to avoid having to liaise with the investors.
John was blown away when he picked Amelia up, she looked glamorous to say the least as he drank her in. The red that contrasted against her skin and hair made him feel like the luckiest man in the world.
John took her hand and kissed it "You look amazing" he breathed.
Amelia blushed before smiling "Thank you, you're so sweet" she laughed before taking his hand and scanning the streets for any lone men who could possibly be watching.
Tonight there wasn't any.
Maybe Tommy had given up?

Amelia walked into the hospital conference room which had been turned into a ball. The beautiful decorations hadn't gone unnoticed.
Amelia was passed a glass of wine and introduced to many of Johns colleagues and friends. It was hard to smile as they eyed her up and asked questions about the status of their courtship. Many of them must of heard of her relationship with a notorious man but nobody dared ask.
John did most of the talking as he placed a protective hand on the bottom of her back. Amelia felt like arm candy, she didn't feel like a date and it bothered her. Having excused herself for just a second Amelia found Jessica and Lisa talking near the bar.
"Can this get anymore boring?" Lisa hissed as she nursed her wine.
Amelia smiled in agreement before getting a fresh glass and thanking the waitress.
