"Well well well, look who it is. The damsel really came crawling back to us."

I narrowed my eyes at the dramatic redhead in front of me. "You're literally the one who called me here."

"Skylar, lay off," Reece warned, making her raise her hands up in surrender. "Bella, we appreciate the fact that you came alone."

I scoffed. "Yeah, it was hard."

"Well, we all know Dean. He may have agreed to let you do this, but we also know he probably only did it to shut you up," Reece explained, making me glare at him. "Sorry, but you know it's true. Anyway, he would protest every single option we threw out, so him being here wasn't an option."

"I know," I sighed in defeat. Reece, Skylar, and I were meeting at school to discuss our little arrangement for the mission. Although Dean hadn't agreed to it, I didn't care. I already decided I was doing this for him.

But I still hated lying to him.

"Here's the plan," Skylar said, her voice holding no emotion. She leaned in, resting her elbows on her knees. Her flame-red hair curled around her face. "You are going to get close to Ben. I don't care how you do it, but it's gotta be done. You need to keep us updated on everything he says. Even the smallest of hints can be a huge clue."

I crossed my arms, attempting to look half as intimidating at her. "How do you expect me to do that?"

"I don't care," she snarled.

Reece rolled his eyes and stepped in front of her intimidating form. "Listen, you're good at making friends with the enemy. Just do what you did with Dean and me."

Use him. I could do that. I did it with Reece. I did it with Dean. I could do it with Ben.

"Okay," I finally said. Both of their faces lit up with excitement.

"Ben can't know about your closeness with Dean or else he'll get suspicious," he continued.

"Obviously," I snorted. Both parties sent me a look of disdain and I shut my mouth. "Any tactics to help me start?"

Skylar's mouth twisted into a mischievous smirk. "Easy. I'm sure he'll be at the next party. That's when you'll strike."

My stomach turned at the idea. I knew she had a good point, but it seemed so soon. But, then again, parties seemed to be the best place for me to initiate the plan.

Or screw it up.

With a tight-lipped smile, I nodded. "Sounds good. I'll do it."

"Good girl," she smirked and I clenched my fist, trying not to punch her. Her condescending attitude and looks didn't go unnoticed.

Reece sensed my irritation and gestured toward his office door. I followed him out, preparing for the stench of body spray and BO. Luckily, he led me to the hallway outside, with fresh air.

"Thanks, Bella, this means a lot," he said when we reached the hall. "Look, I know you don't owe us anything, but I owe my life to Dean. I really appreciate your help."

I thought back to all the times Dean saved me, intentionally or not. "Me too."

He gave me an acknowledging nod and patted my shoulder before returning to his office. I snuck back to the library to join my friends in our study hall. There wasn't much time left until school was dismissed, but I figured I should show up before to assure them everything is normal.

Ever since the whole Dylan and Emma situation, I've been walking on eggshells. Although no one mentioned it, Jaz told me that everyone was getting suspicious. When I say everyone, I mean Will.
