CHAPTER FIFTEEN
"When are you planning on confessing, Wakatoshi?" Tendou teased their team captain, as both were walking out of the campus at night after a tiring day.
The sky was getting darker and the way to the dorms was near, but it didn't matter- they were roommates. If there was something Tendou had wanted to ask Ushijima for so long, it was when he would be confessing. Watching both captains was painful, especially with how oblivious and dense they were with their own feelings.
"What am I going to confess?" Ushijima asked, sporting a poker face as he held the strap of his bag tightly.
"Oh, still trying to deny it, huh? Well, if you're not interested in Hara, I might as well tell Tsutomu he has a chance-"
"He doesn't have a chance. She won't like him in that way," Ushijima deadpanned, making Tendou smirk to himself.
"Really? Who should she date then, you?" the red haired teased, which made his captain halt his steps.
"She shouldn't date. I'm not talking about this," Ushijima replied, leaving Tendou behind.
The red haired, however, still grinned to himself and shook his head. He was trying to provoke Ushijima to make him realize his feelings. To him, Ushijima Wakatoshi was too oblivious to the fact that he wanted to be so much more than friends with Watanabe Hara. Maybe he still liked her after all this time.
As he was walking ahead of Tendou who decided to stay back for a bit, Ushijima furrowed his brows as he tried not to think of what Tendou said. He, too, had been thinking about Hara all day, but tried not to do so. It was troublesome, but it was not too unpleasant.
Why should it affect me if she ends up with someone else?, Ushijima thought, clenching his fist.
He was about to continue walking forward when he suddenly saw a suspicious figure hiding behind a wall. Deciding on facing that person, both of them were surprised when they realized who both of them were.
"Ushijima?!"
"Oikawa?"
Oikawa shook his head, playing with the sunglasses he used as a disguise. Ushijima, however, stared at him curiously. He wondered why Aoba Johsai's captain was spying around the Shiratorizawa area. What was his intention?
"Why are you here?" Ushijima asked, staring into Oikawa's eyes.
"Me? Just checking the area out-"
"You should have gone to Shiratorizawa, then, if you're too curious about it." Ushijima said, making an irked expression appear on Oikawa's face. "You can check the whole area all you like."
"Pft," Oikawa said, turning his head away. "I was just waiting for Hara-"
"Do you have any business with Hara?" asked the ace, which only irritated Oikawa a bit more. "It's not so gentlemanly to do something that's borderline stalking. If you do not have a prior appointment with her, it's best that you leave now."
"Of course, I do! We're friends. We exchange messages with each other. I want to be-"
"You want to be what?" Ushijima cut him off, making Oikawa's brows raise in amusement.
"Ah, what is this? You're interested in Hara, too?" Oikawa said, a sly smirk plastering itself across his lips.
Ushijima furrowed his brows slightly, clenching his fists. Of all the days he could cross paths with Oikawa and his words, it had to be that night when he was most confused about his feelings, especially after learning about Tsutomu.
